Anyone notice the new addition at the pet cemetary as you're leaving the Haunted Mansion? Look back in the far left-hand corner. It's a statue of Mr.Toad. A CM pointed it out to me when we were there at the end of January. Kind of sad, really. :guilty: I loved that ride.

:sad2: I miss Mr. Toad. Very sad.

Yup, Toad was great and I miss it too. However, the pooh ride in WDW is a heck of a lot better than the one in DL Cali. It's a quality dark ride and a worthy replacement. I think it's great that they payed tribute to Mr. Toad at the HM.

I've never ridden the "Pooh" attraction that replaced "Toadie".

Never will...

I miss Toad as well, but the Pooh ride is FIRST-RATE.
Its proves how good a "dark ride" suitable for all ages can built today using current technology.
By not riding it, you're just robbing yourself of a great attraction.
Disney won't know or care either way.

Instead of just crossing your arms and "poohing" at Pooh, why not put some effort into asking Disney to re-install Toad at UK in Epcot?

The statue has been there since at least late November. We took a KTTK tour and I looked up and saw Toadie there and almost started squeeling. Our guide was clueless that it was there, so maybe it had been recently put there?

Aww... I miss Toad and can't stand Pooh! Maybe one day it will be back!

that's a nice tribute. when Universal did away with Kongfrontation to build Revenge of the Mummy they put a gold Kong statue in the 'treasure room'. it's a nice show of respect. :)

We just got back today from MK - a cast member told us that the imagineers didn't put him there and that he was a very recent addition - he just appeared. I have no idea whether that is true or not - but he claimed the statue is from the old ride. I can't remember where they'd have a statue of Mr. Toad in the old ride! But for what it's worth - that's what we were told. Still, a great touch no matter how he got there!! (I miss Mr. Toad, although DD (8) doesn't even remember the ride at all!)

I know in DL there is a statue of Mr. Toad in the queue. I wish I had known about the one at HM. I was just in WDW three weeks ago! I would have known for sure if it was the statue from the queue (I'm assuming the queue was the same as DL. I hadn't been on it since I was 10 when Pooh replaced it).

As luck would have it - I have a picture! :rotfl:

We liked Mr. Toad but Pooh actually is more desireable for our family. We have been on the ride several times and the kids always find something new to marvel at.

I remember there was a staute of him in the ride I can't remember what it pertained to though, it's been so long since the last time I went on MTWR....I miss it too but Pooh is pretty fun!
I am anxious to look for the statue outside the HM.

I hadn't noticed. I'll have to check that out next time. To tell you the truth, my eyes must be really bad because I can't read half of what's on the tombstone things in the pet cemetary.

Toad will always be a classic in my book. My family and I dearly loved Mr. Toad. We still ride Pooh and we enjoy it. No, it does not replace Toad in our books but it pays nice homage to the Mr. Toad ride with the stratigally place Toad pics and Mr. Toad handing the deed off to Pooh. It does make me sad to see Toad hit the Pet Cemetary. :( :(
In a way, this is just another example of "Disney Magic". They never allow us to forget those dear to us...like Mr. Toad.

There are actually 2 tributes to Mr Toad inside Winnie the Pooh - 2 pictures in Owl's House

Here's the first - a picture of Mr Toad handing the deed to Owl on the left side of the wall as you enter that room

And the 2nd is a picture of Mole with Pooh on the floor on the right as you leave that same room

Does anyone have a pic of Mr. Toad in the cemetary to compare with welovewdw's DL pic???

Toadie was there in October so he isn't that new. I prefer the Pooh ride to the toad ride anyway.
