New $50 coupon at Alamo for pick-up by Feb. 6th, unbelievable rates !

Would you mind me asking when your rates started dropping? I have an April trip planned and nothing decent for a car rental. Even the walmart code does not work for my April dates

The best I could get for awhile was $190. Then about two weeks ago I got a better deal through National for $162. Then yesterday, I got the ridiculously low $139.

I'm picking up on Feb 2nd. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Don't ask me why, but I tried the code for my March reservation and it accepted it. :confused3

I have a rate of $154 for Feb 4-11 at national EA we arrive at 2 pm.
I can get a full size SuV for $156 thru alamo( $50 coupon and Visa discount 7013310). With alamo I have to go to the counter with national I just go to the cars and take whats happens to be there. My question is the counter that big a problem or should I take the easy way out with national? Thanks for any help on this one.

Did you use a contract id with national? If so which one? I have a rental through national for pretty much the same dates with EA and mine is $188. Thanks!

I used Airtran contract ID 6600422. The night I got that rate for some reason the prices were down. I have checked back and found the same price that you have. I looked at alamo again last night and found that I could lower my cost another $12 if I prepay. I'm getting a little less concerned by the lines as it will let me pre-check in if I use the prepay. I've just had really good luck with national in the past.

FONZY13: I tried and tried to get the $139 rate that you had gotten and the lowest I could get was $160. I am going the same time you are, but only renting for 7 days. That is were my problem was. You are renting for 8 days. I finally tried it by adding the extra day to the reservation and I got the $139 rate. So it was cheaper for me to add a day to my reservation even though I will be turning it in a day early. Thank you again for helping me save more money on my trip! I really appreciate it! And I love the DIS boards!!!!!!!!!

How strange is that? Congrats though.

Alamo is funny for the week we are going to be there, it costs $40 more for a compact than it does a mid-size SUV! WEird.

Where are you staying?

Last year the same thing happened to me. I think that they had excess mid-sized SUV's for my dates so they offered those at a lower price.

We are going Feb 2- 9. Staying at All Star Music. This is our first time staying onsite. We have been to Disney/Florida about 6 times before but always stayed offsite. We are soooooooo excited!!!!! We can't wait. We leave at 4:50 from BWI.
Where are you staying? Where are you coming from? Thanks again for the great tip! I think my husband is shocked at some of the rates we have gotten on car rental. The last time we went(2yrs ago) I got a $99 rate for the week(intermediate) with Avis. And its all thanks to the DIS Boards.

Have a magical vacation!

Does anyone know if the standard SUV's have 3rd row seats???? Or does it just depend on the make of the SUV?

Villas at Wilderness Lodge. First time staying here, I am beyond excited. I will be there the same time, plus a day, February 2-10.

Watch out staying onsite, you do not know what you are in for. Soon there will be trips twice a year, then a DVC membership.

Have a great time.

Thank you DIS'ers! I made our car reservations a long time ago with Enterprise thinking $228 was a great deal for the week. Now with the Alamo tips we got our week at $184!! You guys are awesome. :flower3:
