New “Music of Pixar Live!” Show Coming to Hollywood Studios this Summer-FPs Now Available

How has this been going? Are the shows filling up? How early? I currently have a dining package booked but would probably prefer the flexibility to go to the show on any night and at whatever time works best on a given day for the kids in our party.

Does it look like it is being well received?

I went to the middle show on Sunday. I arrived about 20 minutes before it started and had to sit in the back section of bleachers. (The uncovered section). I'd say only about 25% of us in the back bleachers stayed for the whole 45 minute show. But, only a few people from the main section left early (they had overhead fans and new seat cushions).

I loved the show. But I don't think small children can handle 45 minutes of orchestral music.

I'd keep the dining package. An hour of free time is hard to find on the fly, so a plan is probably better.

yulilin3,
So you just did standby then and arrived an hour before show time???? Just checking as you were able to sit in my favorite seats. surprised these were not reserved for the dining package. what areas are they seating the dining package in?

Yes I was standby and I was also surprised that the seats behind the sound booth were open. Reserved seating was the front center of the sound booth and front left as you face the stage. At about 15 minutes before showtime they opened the available seats that were left in the front as well.
For the first show I was seated around 4:20pm

Does the show have stroller parking?

I love these boards. Booked H&V and they gave us the early show before dinner. How will they know that we have a reservation to get in to the show?

Good question; I often wondered if you just go by the restaurant and get the VIP tickets. We have one booked but we got the middle show, after dinner. We did the Pixar/Fantasmic package. So we have dinner, Pixar. ToT and Fantasmic.

i assume it's on your magic band so they'll know...(big brother knows all)...

you're handed paper tickets that say which show and dated when you pay the bill. You don't prepay these meals.

I've also seen brown derby recommend guests switch to the show if they have extra tickets to hand out and it'll save them money when it's time to bring them the bill. Never seen anywhere else do that.

I echo just about all of this. I was at the very first showing last weekend (5pm on Saturday) and we got there about 4:50. Sat in the very far back right and HUNDREDS of people got up an left. Many of them from pretty close to the stage (which means they probably got there well in advance). How/why someone would get there that far in advance and not know what to expect kinda confused me.

The show is good, but too long. Definitely too long for most kids to enjoy but some will tolerate it.

that's not true in this case....we go to the show BEFORE we eat dinner....
so they have to know somehow...

This worries me that they will shorten the show. I'm going in August and have booked the dining package with this and Fantasmic. I'll be so disappointed if they take out part of the show because some people can't handle an orchestra and didn't research what the show was. Maybe they should do like they do on Ellen's Energy ride and repeatedly announce how long it is. That way people can leave beforehand and not disturb the rest of us.

From the website:
  • If dining before the concert, you will receive your voucher for The Music of Pixar Live! and Fantasmic! reserved seating at the restaurant.
  • If dining after the concert, pick up your voucher for The Music of Pixar Live! and Fantasmic! reserved seating at Theater of the Stars. Enter through the dining package entrance at the front of the theater and check in with the Cast Member to receive the voucher.
So, just go the theater and they'll check magic bands or have a list.

I don't think thats a real possibility. From what I remember each composition is made for each movie so they would either have to rewrite a composition or cut out one complete movie/portion of the show.

I just hope they extend the run till December. I love orchestral music and I'd love to see this show!
