New….. Airport Luggage Transfer (formerly Resort Airline Check In) Trial at Disney Value Resorts/Southwest Airlines

wow i am SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!! To hear this may be coming back! this was a MASSIVE time and logistics saver and we used EVERY TRIP before it disappeared during Covid. and I think it is a win-win for Disney because it gives people more time to stay in the parks knowing they don't have to fight the bag line at the airport, which is more time to spend money lol

Our trip is not until November so hopefully it rolls out site/airline wide after this testing phase.

Bumping this up… just did a google search and there’s been no update on this I can find since when it was first announced. Are they still even trying this out at Pop Century or did they just give up on it?

Available at all Value Resorts and still only Southwest Airlines.

Was so hoping this test would be successful and rolled out to other resorts by now, like before.
I guess, for me, it's like hoping for the Rose and Crown menu to be expanded back to being decent and Citizens of Hollywood performers to return.
Hope you all are having a magical day!

Walt Disney World Expands Airport Luggage Transfer for Full Roundtrip Service

The new pilot program completes the roundtrip service, effectively reviving the Remote Airline Check-In service that Walt Disney World discontinued years ago. Here’s the latest.

Beginning Nov. 18, Guests arriving on domestic Southwest Airlines flights at Orlando International Airport (MCO) and staying at select Disney Resort hotels will have the option to skip baggage claim by checking their luggage at the Southwest bag drop area or ticket counter for direct delivery to their resort.

BagCheck — a third-party provider — will facilitate transportation of the luggage from the airport, with delivery to the resort within approximately four hours of arrival.

While the service is under a new name, this effectively revives the old Remote Airline Check-In service that was discontinued years ago.

It’s worth noting that our understanding is that there are two separate, but similar services at play here. The existing service operates from Walt Disney World to MCO (and then your destination airport). This newly announced expansion service operates from your home airport to your Walt Disney World Resort. That said, guests who qualify for the newly expanded service could also qualify for the existing outgoing service, creating a roundtrip experience.

Operationally, we’ll have to wait to see how it’s implemented, but it’s possible that guests will need to sign up for the inbound to Walt Disney World service separately from the outbound away from Walt Disney World service.

Walt Disney World is messaging guests now with information on how to sign up for this complimentary service. Here’s an example of the email that is going out to eligible guests.

Dear Guest,
We’re excited to share a new pilot program for guests flying Southwest Airlines into Orlando International Airport (MCO) and staying at select Disney Resorts Collection hotels. This convenient service lets you skip baggage claim and have your checked luggage delivered directly to your Disney Resort hotel. The service will begin operating for flights arriving November 18, 2025 or later. If you’d like to take advantage of the service, your registration window opens 30 days prior to departure and closes 5 days prior to departure.

Sincerely,Walt Disney World Resort

Awesome news!

Memories of the yellow tag days!

Now we just need the return of Disney's Magical Express to completely return to the good old days!

I am referring to the service FROM the airport that is about to start. They haven’t said which resorts yet.
Ah yes they have, and the article lists them as:

The list of participating resorts is as follows:
  • Disney’s All-Star Movies, Music, and Sports Resorts
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
We will have more details, and the confirmation when the inbound luggage service launches tomorrow, November 13 to make your reservation between 30 and 5 days before arrival.

Nice! Everything I read said the resorts weren’t named yet. Thank you!

ETA I did not even see a link in the post because I was reading on my phone, so please have patience. :)

I also just noticed I will be just outside of their registration window. Dang! Good luck to everyone who can take advantage of it and please report back!
