My DH and I are taking our DD3 for a 15 night trip to the world in September. She will turn 4 that October. We are only planning a few signature meals and have decided to put her into daycare when we go. She loves nursery/playgroup here at home so i think she would enjoy it. She has never cried or been unhappy at us leaving.
That said now I have made the decision I am worrying about it. Here are my worries:
    1. Will she just be so tired at the end of the day that she will just want to sleep?
    2. Is is mean to leave her in care whilst we have a great night?
    3. Would they contact me if she was fractious?
    4. Would they let her nap if she was sleepy?
    5. Will they give her a good meal?
I feel guilty already and it's nine months away.
Do any of you disers have any experience of these clubs.
    Thanks in advance

Our 2011 trip to AKL we planned on using Simba's Clubhouse once so that DH and I could have a nice relaxing evening at Epcot. I had similar concerns as you do...was it fair to have fun without him? Would he be tired? Cranky? Sad? :confused3 So, I bit the bullet and we took him that first night. He absolutely loved it! The staff was so friendly and made us all feel at ease immediately. There are a multitude of toys to play with, gaming systems (including a Wii), and crafts to do as well. They are fed dinner that you can choose before you leave, and at about 9:30 they wind things down with milk and cookies. There are cots and blankets if children get tired or fall asleep. You will also get a beeper and the direct phone number for the Kids Club. I called a couple of times to check on him. He begged to go back every night after that. :rotfl2: DH and I ended using it again so we could enjoy a meal alone at Jiko and again for another park evening alone. I really think it was a nice "break" for him to be away from us and be able to do his own thing. I know I am pretty commando with my touring, so he was probably enjoying just hanging out with other kids and playing with some cool new toys. If you have any other questions, just ask. I am definitely using it again on our upcoming trip.

My kids have always loved the kids clubs. They've been to the Neverland, Sandcastle and Simba's. There are a lot of options as far as games, crafts, movies, etc. The CMs have ALWAYS been great. It's been a couple of years since we've used them as my kids have aged out but they used to have an open house type thing where you can come in and check it out. I have a feeling though if your DD likes daycare she'll love the club and you won't regret it.

It was years ago, but we used them, too. Once at Neverland and once at Simba's. The kids had more fun at Neverland, but I think it was because of the kids who were there that particular night, rather than the staff. Also, our kids were 6 & 7 at the time, so a little older than your D. They had a nice dinner, played video games and then watched some of a movie.

The night we dropped them at Neverland, we went to the bar at 'Ohana, ordered great appetizers and big fruity drinks. We didn't go to a fancy dinner, since we were spending the $$ on Neverland. Then we walked down to the pool bar (more fruity drinks) and walked along the beach. The kids were never far from us, but we felt like we really had that quiet time we needed.

15 nights is a long time - D might appreciate a break from you guys, too! LOL!

I have had the same concerns about leaving my children while we go and have fun, but I think if your children are old enough to tell you afterwards how their night was then it should be just fine.

My kids (4 and 7) went to Simba's 3 weeks ago, so I will try to help. They ran off when we were signing in and didn't look back. There was so much for them to do and the CMs were great! When we came back to pick them up they didn't want to go and insisted on finishing the coloring/crafts they were working on. They absolutely loved it. My younger one is usually a bit shy and a mommy's girl and I was worried about it but she went right off to play.

    1. Do you mean when you drop her off at the Club? Chances are she will be so excited that she will forget she's tired.

    2. I was worried about that as well. But she is going to have fun, too.

    3. I would assume so, they ask for contact information from you.

    4. Not sure about that, I don't think there is a designated sleep area.

    5. When you drop off you will choose the dinner for your child. Choices were pizza, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, maybe a few others. They also get a side and a drink.

DH and I went to Jiko and had a fabulous meal and a great "date"!
