So we were debating on going down to see Disney decorated for Christmas. I know I know, we're inside of 7 months and BLT (our home resort) is completely booked up.

When I called at lunch time, the only thing available was Saratoga Springs. Called home to the wife and she gave the green light for Saratoga Springs.

But I had a bunch of meetings to attend, so I just got a chance to call in.

While I was on the phone, a Standard View Studio (11/30 - 2/5) room at AK Kidani popped up as available so I grabbed it lickity split.

Sure, I would have rather grabbed a Savanah View room, but we can do that next time.

Mickey at Christmas here we come!!! :cool1:

December decorations are just beautiful in WDW. You'll have a great time, and getting AKV is very lucky!

Yes, it never hurts to call. I called yesterday for a trip late September to early October (5 months away) and was surprised that I had so many choices. Of course OKW and SSR, but was also offered AKV-standard view studio which I went ahead and booked. I love OKW so was ready for that, but given it's hurricane season, I thought an "inside" resort would be better since "I've done that before".

I'm actually booked on an bounceback free dining from last year and the closer it gets the less I'm interested in staying at Pop and getting the free basic ddp. I thought it was a good idea when I booked it, but now getting cold fee. At least I have the better package since it is basic ddp with a value resort, but still on the fence about it.

I would like to add a day to my July ressie (I am already waitlisted) and call every day. The MS rep said that I was already waitlisted and I told her that I had heard on the Internet that you could call in every day and have a better chance to get the add on. She said that the Internet was wrong and that the waitlisters get first dibs. She was rather adament about it too. I think I'll keep calling every day ;)

I have a 2-bedroom value at AKV from 12/1 to 12/4 and am wait listed for 12/4 through 12/7. I call every day so that in case any one of the days becomes available I'll get it and modify my wait list. The wait list will only be filled if all three days become available. If I could get even one more day it would be nice. Unless we get all of the days we want we're going to split our stay.

I think there's reason to call every day and check individual days within your wait list.

Congrats on your score of AKV for X-mas. I love Disney at the holidays and hopefully will stay at AKV someday.

Do keep calling! we were wait listed for BLT but by calling was able to snag a studio Jambo House Savanna View for our trip 11-5 to 11-12
