Never challenge a DISer to find a deal--a Nov/Dec PTR 11/26: Today's the day!!!

i can't wait to do a Disney day! I'm not sure when we will do ours though... i know we are going to have a big one when my sister is home for Thanksgiving since it will be about 3 weeks before our trip, but I'm not sure if we will do one without her or just stick to our normal theme nights... Your day looked awesome!

We had this climbing toy when the kids were little. They loved it! It was a pirate ship, a space rocket, a clubhouse...all kinds of things throughout the years. It faded over time, but held up well. One side finally got a crack in it, and the kids outgrew it, so we disassembled it and threw it out. Seeing your picture brought back a flood of memories of my kids climbing all over, around, and through ours.

The puzzle is great, and the cupcakes are, too! I enjoyed sharing in your Disney Day. Now that you have done one, I predict there will be more in the future. :tigger:

We bought that climber off of some neighbors when Doug was far too little to get inside. Like your kids, they have used for every kind of creative play imaginable. Once I think it was even Cinderella's Castle after they flew to Disney World on our airplane. It's so wonderful to see what they can come up with imagination and a few toys. I am glad that I helped you walk down memory lane a bit! :grouphug:

I foresee many more Disney days in the coming months and years!

Loved your Disney Day! What fun! Where did you get the Mickey Nuggets? My kids would love those!!! Your cupcakes look so yummy!

The Mickey nuggets were at Target of all places!! We were out running errands and my last stop was Target. I had no clue how I was going to get Disney into our lunches. I found a lunchbox for Doug and the oreos for the cupcakes and thought I'd take a quick trip through the frozen foods department and there they were! I was thrilled!

I had the Disney day in the plans for weeks but really didn't know what we were going to do until that week. I had planned things that were far more grand than what we did, but the kids loved all of the touches so it worked out well.

I think theme nights are awesome too!

Congrats on the 99 days!! :cool1:

I am going to have to stop by HomeDepot soon to pick up some mickey paint samples. I love that idea!!!

On her "month birthdays" I took a photo of her sitting in the rocker in her bedroom. Here is how I displayed the monthly photos I took of her. Those are the outfits she was wearing in each pic:

I just found this PTR, and so glad that I did. I love it so far. I just have to tell you what a great idea to do the pictures and the outfits. Wow, so imaginitive. Love it.

Disney Day!!!

On Wednesday, we hit 99 days til Disney! To honor our 99 days, we decided to do a bunch of stuff to hype the boys up for the upcoming trip!

Doug has decided that although we can't have Disney day every day, we should do a little something each day to get us ready for our trip. I like they way he thinks!

And a quick double digit dance!!

:yay: Yay!! :yay:

What a totally awesome Disney Day!!

And thanks, Margaret! Although it's almost 10pm, I am now craving Mickey Pancakes! ::MickeyMo

Thanks!! We are so excited to be counting down with the kids!

I have to wonder how many paint chips walk out of there from people who are planning to do something "Disney-ish"!

:welcome: So excited to have another reader! It wasn't totally my idea to do the clothesline like. ;) I found a few different ideas and meshed them together to come up with something that worked for us! I love when that happens!

Why thank you Kathy!! I actually thought of your 100 days to Disney Party before your trip with Catie as I was planning this one. While we went in a different direction, I was hoping for that feel.

And I am thinking you'll be able to convince Billy that Mickey pancakes would be a great breakfast for tomorrow AM! ;)

Any readers into scrapbooking?

I am a fan of a site called scrapbook steals. Until 9 AM MST they have a bunch of the nicer Disney stickers on sale for 50% off. They have the Fab 5 and the princesses. Google scrapbook steals and I am sure you can find it. If you aren't there Tuesday morning by 9 am though, there will be a new deal up.

And a little shameless sharing...

Doug had his first day of first grade today. I don't think I've talked much about our school district here. We have one K/1 building. Because of this, there are over 30 sections of 1st grade in the building. While we got to make suggestions for our children for 1st grade, there's still a good chance that your kids end up in classes where they know no one. Doug was one of those kids. He rolled with the idea of making 24 new friends a whole lot better than his mother did. He did tell me at breakfast this morning that he had a weird tickle in his tummy that he thought was from meeting all new kids today going into first grade.

Here are a couple of photos of my big 1st grader!

Look at all those smiles!! :yay: for the first day of school and the "weird tickle in his tummy" for new friends.

I finally made it though all of the posts. I think your trip looks fantastic. I'm so happy that you are flying. That is a long car trip with kids and especially during the school year.
Your dining all looks great. Here are my thoughts...
Do Liberty Tree. We are going to eat at as many sit down family style as possibly. We are going to have two hungry boys and they are not on plan. And buffets are tricky with that many kids because you are always up getting someone food. (Don't get me wrong--we will do some of those too)
Liberty Tree was our favorite out of 7 ADRS last time. And our only repeat.
Cape May gave us food poisoning 4 yeas ago so I won't be back but it was yummy!
We really enjoyed WCC. The easy boatride over will make it nice and at Christmas in a lodge. Perfect! My husband was a little less that thrilled but he ordered a very similar meal at T-Rex the night before (even though I told him not to).
We really want to do HDDR but when they are all old enough to really enjoy it. For us, that time is not now.

That Daddy-son picture melts my heart!!! Adorable! How did it all go?

He had a great day I think! I was at home panicking that he'd have no money for milk yesterday, but I think system was just slow in catching up with my payment. He had no problems in the lunch line, but did come home saying that he did not have enough time to eat all the food I packed. I was also told they are not allowed to use the word hurry at school and the books they had out to read were too easy for him. One big thing they also do is ask the kids to write down their hopes for their classes - his hope for Spanish class was to learn the names of all the animals in Spanish. That's my boy -- wants difficult books and learn about animals!

The car trip during the school year was exactly why we changed our minds. Since we are already pulling the kids out of school for 5 days, it would be hard to justify that 6th day off that may have occurred. I'd really like to add WCC, but right now we cannot get a ressie. It's kind of killing me. Today (and this could change tomorrow) I'd cancel HDDR and add in WCC.

I commented on the one of the three smiling siblings on Facebook, but I am with you, Brook, I like this one a lot, too. :)

The moment I uploaded the photos, I called Ryan and said, this is the photo you'll want to print and have on your desk forever!

Awww, look at that big first grader!! :thumbsup2

I know, just yesterday he was my baby... What happened?

The pictures from the first day of school are just wonderful!

Well thank you! I look back at the photos my mom took when I was in elementary school and I remember picking out that outfit or school supplies or whatever else and have such fond memories. I hope the boys (and girl) do the same thing some day.

Hi! I was just checking out your PTR. I'll have to visit the scrapbooking site that you mentioned. Thanks for the tip!

:)

Abby started Spanish too. Her teacher asked them if they knew any Spanish words and she was the only one who raised her hand and she said "La Placita" means the little place. That is our favorite Mex place in town and the waiter had just taught her. That's my girl!

Interesting that they can't use the word hurry. I think I like that. I should adopt that in my life.

Good for him on wanting harder books! :thumbsup2

:welcome: They have so many cool things on that site! Some are pretty big items at a great deal too! Sadly, I never have enough money leftover to do much shopping but I do dream each time I look!

Yeah, I think I should be adopting the no hurry rule here too. It's probably my favorite word. His teacher says that accidents happen, people end up doing poor work, and it gets you all wound up when you tell people to hurry.

The funny thing about the hard books -- he got a new bag of books yesterday that were apparently much harder and he told me it took him a while (by looking at the covers) to pick out one he didn't think was too hard for him to read. Apparently half of his quiet reading time was spent picking out the proper book and the other half was reading. Goof!

My favorite scrapbooking site (other than Creative Memories, of course!) is Scrap Your Trip. The owner sends out such wonderful e-mails every week and they have the cutest things. I've gotten tons of Disney stuff from both of those sites.
