Ok, I have been posting to the "ways to earn $$ for Disney" thread, and have gotten GREAT ideas! It got me thinking, though, that there are DISers out there who have talents that I might not, and that I would MUCH rather spend my money knowing it was going to help someone go to WDW!

So here's the new thread! Post your business/talent/etc., that other DISers might need! Who knows what might come out of it!

Me first! :p

I sell Soy candles and handmade bath products, both in Spas in my area (Chicagoland) and online. My website is www.ooohlalaspa.com We have over 150 scents (most online!) and most can be used for any product. We started making out most popular candle end of July 2003, and have sold over 10,000 since then!

We also sell Bridal/Baby/Party favors! No pictures online yet, NO TIME! Let me know if you need ideas!

DIS Board Special! Write "DISboard" in the comments section, and receive 10% off your order!!

I don't have any "talents" to sell, but I have found an idea from other posts on this board to make some extra money. Open an ING DIRECT account and gain a $25 bonus when you sign on. Essentially, it a type of online savings account. There's no fees or other hidden charges, no minimum deposit or minimum balance. Plus you earn 2% interest per year. I made an initial deposit of $1. The $25 was credited to my account in about a day. To open the account and get the $25 bonus you need a referral from a current account holder. I have some referrals to give. If you need one, just pm to me with your first and last name and email address. I then send the information to ING and they send you a referral letter. This account is our vacation account. I put any extra money, such as rebate checks, garage sale proceeds, loose change I've saved, etc., directly into this account. In the past money like that went into the general checking account and somehow got spent. To have a seperate account dedicated just to vacation was too expensive, but since the ING account has no fees its the perfect way to "store" money earmarked for vacations. Also, don't forget the 2%. Every little bit helps!

I am a new(ish) Avon rep. I love their products! That sounds silly, but it's true. I'm also taking the Beauty Advisor training and learning so much about skincare and make up. :)

I am working on doing Avon fundraisers for clubs and schools. It's a nice change from wrapping paper or candy bars, don't you think? Most of the profit goes to the group, but the sales volume helps me in other ways.

I can also make money from others' online orders through Avon.com but they have to enter me as their rep. Sometimes the deals or bonuses are better though, so I will send a customer to the website for an order if they want a particular item.

Right now I'm reinvesting everything to try to grow my business. Our next Disney trip isn't until 2005, so I have a while to save! :Pinkbounc

We live in the country and my kids sell things at our local Green Market. Several of the kids in our homeschool group grow veggies, bake unusual foods, home-made ice cream, etc. They earn a little and, of course, it's seasonal.
My 2, ages 11 & 13, really want their own business. They are learning about stocks and real estate, they've even made a few investments.

I'd like to hear what your kids are doing to earn money and what you're teaching them about business.
