Nestles' Tollhouse recalls cookie dough

Having had food poisoning a number of times (one case being severe enough to require hospitalization), I would never eat any raw, prepackaged item that is supposed to be cooked before ingesting.. I don't EVER want to go through that again..

I'll pass this info on to my DD though - as she may be "guilty" of doing this on occasion - or allowing my DGD to take a small taste..

Really ticks me off that our food supply isn't safer..

That's why I use Pillsbury dough! The eggs are pasturized. It's an added bonus that they taste better too.

I tried to take 4 packages back to 2 different stores today, and neither store had any idea about the recall! They even still had the packages on the shelves!

I fired off e-mails to both, but I still have 4 packages to take back! And I'll be darned if I'm just going to throw out $16.00 worth of cookies! (and I wanted the cookies, too!)

I can't believe this. I just baked some. They came out of the oven just 20 minutes ago. I was going to have them for my birthday dessert with ice cream when my DH and DS get home from baseball. My DH was supposed to pick up a cake for my birthday, and he forgot. The cookies were my 2nd choice. I guess it will be just ice cream for my birthday tonight.

I know this is a serious subject and all, but I saw this on the news: The camera man had set up the shot of 1 tube of cookie dough and one of the square packages of cookie dough. That unwrapped tube of chocolate chip cookie dough looked just like a log of poop! I thought I was going to roll off the couch laughing.
