Nervous about Hotwire-tell me your experiences

I know there are many Budget Board posters that have Hotwire, and I know Mary at mousesavers does not recommend them due to problems. So what has your experience been? Is there any other good way go get vouchers out there? Has anyone ever teamed up with someone else to make purchases?

I joined Hotwire long enough to buy the PHPs for our WDW trip in February. At that time, Hotwire had the cheapest prices for 5-day PHPs. I liked the fact that the membership was free for the first 30 days and that we received a $10 rebate on our purchase. I had no trouble ordering the tickets and received them in less than a week! I also received the $10 rebate promptly. I canceled my membership before the 30 days were over and had no problem with canceling either.

I haven't bought any vouchers or other things at Hotwire, but my experience with buying the PHPs was excellent!

I actually don't use them for Disney. We get them for Target, Barnes and Noble, JC Penny, Blockbuster. I like the 20% savings right off the bat.
They are nice for presents also.
So far I have not had any problems but I have only used it a few times in the last few months we have had it. Now... That being said I think I will soon order a bunch of them and then stop it. It is only really worth keeping if you use it a lot since there is a monthly fee.

I joined Hotwire in September to buy 7 day PHPs. We received the tickets quickly. I also order a few Q & C vouchers. Then, I've stayed a member to take advantage of the gift cards, restaurant cards, and movie tickets. I'm planning to cancel my membership soon. In the meantime, I've reaped some great discounts and have some good gifts for Xmas. I've always received anything that I have ordered quickly (less than a weeks time). I always use a credit card. I've heard some people have had issues with using a debit card - and some people have problems with their post office delivering the DHL mail. My post office is great and I've never had a problem.

I have used both a CC & a debit card, and have had no problems. I've ordered vouchers & gift certificates. Each order came in 4 to 5 days. The only thing I've ordered that took longer was movie tickets. It took about 3 weeks to get them. Not sure why. The $5 refund for the GC's has always been credited to my account by the 2nd of the month. I joined planning to order some vouchers, then cancel. I've been so pleased with their service, that I've decided to continue my membership.

I joined Hotwire in August. I've used them for park hoppers, movie tickets, restaurant cards, Target, JC Penney, Circuit City, and Toys-R-Us. I have never had a problem with them. I have always received my order in less than a week, and my $5 credit for the gift cards has always been posted to my account within 1 billing cycle. I know a lot of people have been unhappy with them, but I can't complain, and I have really enjoyed using them.

Great experience! I didn't cancel because with the gift cards, you save 20% on everything you buy with the cards.....and then you can budget shop from that point with coupons and sales. Land's End is now listed, so I will order a bunch of those to keep on hand to combine with the Saturday Ticker sales. WooHoo!!

I joined in August 2004 and I have been very happy the service. I always recieve my giftcards and tickets in less than 10 days. I plan on staying a member for awhile because of the gift cards.

Signed up this summer to get vouchers, and ended up staying. I have maxed out on Target, Toys R Us, Chuck E Cheese, Outback, etc. as well as getting the vouchers. It has saved me several hundred dollars and the service has been great. I will continue the service. I always receive my order within a week.

I'm another satisfied Hotwire customer. Bought tickets, vouchers and gift cards. Joined last year for the holidays, quit then re-joined this year for the holidays again. They have been prompt with delivery and you can't beat the prices.

We joined in September 2003 - we bought passes and vouchers & saved a tremendous amount. We have since purchased movie tickets & shopping gift cards. I bought half my Christmas stuff with gift cards that I bought through Hotwire. We have generally received anything we have ordered in about a week. Since they added quite a few more store and restaurants and other services, we plan to continue our membership.

I have to say that I have a great experience with Hotwire. The one problem I had with Hotwire (which was not there fault, my debit card was lost and therefore, monthly fee did not process and membership was cancelled which then resulted in me not getting a $150 credit that month), was handled much to my surprise very well. It only took one phone call to get it resolved and in the end they credited my cc the $150. I did have to rejoin using a different cc.

So far so good...could someone post the monthly service charge? I was thinking about splitting the membership with 2 friends, who go to disney annually, and also do a lot of shopping at Target. We all also eat out every month and also go to the movies, so I think it might be fun.

I just received my 7 day PHP for our trip in February- I ordered them on a Thursday, and received them Monday- How is that for quick service? I need to order a few more meal vouchers for our trip but am debating on the number.
