Nervous about filling in Esta !

Hi
Anyone else get nervous bout filling in Esta. I need to renew ours as it's been over 2 yrs since our visit .
I wonder how you pay fo it ? Is post office cc ok?
Can anyone remind / reassure me
Is it just our passports we need? not sure if I have our old Esta number?..

You have probably already been through it. You won't need your old ESTA numbers as a new one will be generated for each person you apply for - it is a completely new application. You need your passport numbers and personal details but otherwise nothing is mandatory aside from answering the yes/no questions.

I would assume that the site takes you to a payment page before processing your application and should give details of acceptable payment methods. It may well be in the last posts of the sticky thread, but I haven't been on there for some time now to be honest.

I redid mine in January, it was totally fine. You need your passport numbers, flight number, hotel address (if you have it). It was a bummer having to pay for it this time but never mind. It still works the same way as it did before and they take most credit cards.

You don't need your old ESTA number and it gets treated as a new application. I wouldn't worry about it.

As long as you follow the link at the top of the page you will be fine. This will take you to the proper site, so you have nothing to worry about with getting scammed or anything nasty (although it may leave a bitter taste in the mouth when it comes to paying - but thats for a different thread )
Also seeing as though you have already been accepted for the ESTA before, and as long as you haven't been naughty durng the past 2 years, you should be fine this time.

I have to re do DH before we go in october. I got a new passport before we went last year so mine was still free then. DH still had time left so I forgot to re do it and now I have to pay for it.

I get freaked out doing the AP info for the flight I check and double check all the numbers to mkae sure they are right.

Do they still make you fill out the green forms? I'm pretty sure we still had to do those last oct? If its just the online form that would be great.

Does anyone know when I can check when my esta runs out? I know I did it when it was free, just can't remember exactly when! We are off on hols next May, so don't want to get there only to find ours has all expired!

There were no green forms when we went last year in October (VA) - only the white ones.

I don't believe the API is mandatory before you fly - it has to be completed, there is no question about it, but if you haven't done it online they will have toadd the details at check in which is time consuming especially if there are several people in your party. I am not sure if this varies from one airline to the next or if there hgas been a recent update to this.

We are flying CO this year and I have gone through the whole API process numerous times and it refuses to save my details so the next time I log in, all the info is gone again (yes I did choose SAVE every time) Last year I did the VA API online which was very easy, but the system was down or something at check in and we had to do it all over again there Remember you can go in and edit it so if you fill in the API info and need to change something you can do so as often as you want to.

Just spoke to DH and he says it was the white forms too, oops sorry just remember being woken up and being handed this form to fill in was so tired that I must have thought it was the green one.

I have done all my API already just to make sure its done. So only the ESTA for DH to do.

After getting Visas for our recent trip to india doing the esta again will be a piece of cake.

I was approoved

$14 each was a bit steep I thought - perhaps the UK should do this to help reduce our deficit

Good idea

Make sure you keep a note of your ESTA numbers now because if you go again in the next two years you don't have to apply afresh, unless any of your party get a passport renewed. But you will need your number to be able to access your application online if you want to update the new travel details.
