Man, this poor bride and groom. My nephew and his fiance had everything ready for their wedding in the Mayian Riviera when they got the phone call yesterday - CANCELLED. Rightly so, but this all came so suddenly and now the tour operator (sunwing) is not offering refunds. 43 people! Yikes! We werent one of them, as we had already planned our trip to WDW and couldn't afford the $3000 each price tag. In speaking to them last night, I asked if the tour operator went to Orlando.....yes they do, but only fly out of Toronto (they are all in Edmonton). They said they would change it in a heartbeat, but the operator said they can't seem to be able to go anywhere out of Edmonton. They did this wedding in Mexico so the bride could avoid the regular wedding stresses, but now they have a greater stress than ever! Please think good thoughts that somehow they end up finding a place to transport these people to and marry. If it is Orlando, I would be thrilled, but then the incredible task of trying to put together a wedding in 2 weeks!

That will be a lot of stress that they do not need. My son and his future wife are getting married in Jamaica on the 13'th of May but back last year in the planning stages, their first choice was at Cabo San Lucas in Mexico but their wedding planner talked them into Jamaica. What luck!. I hope that all things go well for them. I twill be something for them to laugh about 25 years from now.

I would be calling the BBB, the local newspaper and anyone else that would listen. That is not right that the company will not reimburse them. What about flying to Toronto from Edmonton, then Toronto to Florida? Good Luck!!!

Good News...Bad News..... They were able to re-book for Jamaica and they will be wed there. Bad news is they have to dish out another $450. pp to fly to Toronto to do this (sad since it was $3000 a person already).

Wedding guests though, have been great about supporting them! I'm wishing them godspeed at this time!

I'm not sure exactly when the wedding is, but both WJ and AC are showing about $380 to fly YEG-YYZ (return, including taxes). With that many people, the $70 difference would really add up.

Any idea what resort in Jamaica? My son is getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe in Ocho Rios on May 13'th
