Can anyone suggest a hotel off site? We're thinking about a 2 night stay (9/24-9/26) and don't want to spend the $$ to stay onsite. I've heard that there are nice places within walking distance to the parks.

Many "off site" hotels at Disneyland are actualy closer, or as close as the "on site" hotels (apart from the Grand Californian). Many are within a 10 minute walks.

Two of these, which are very highly recommended here, are the Howard Johnson and Candy Cane. (I stayed at the HoJo and loved it)

But why not do a little reading of the posts on this site and you wil find, just today, personal recommendations for a number of other hotels from people who have just stayed there.
