Negotiating a closing date

So I plan to put full asking offer for a resale contract. The listing says they can't close until a certain time so it's already delayed... probably bc they are taking a trip. I would like to delay it an additional 2 months if possible. Is this something that should be negotiated before I put the full asking offer or something that we can work out afterwards?

I would make it a condition of the offer. Once you agree to the contract those types of terms can not be changed without agreement from both.

If the seller said no after you have contracted, you would be stuck

I would certainly give it a shot. Anything and everything is negotiable. Put it in writing. All they can say is no! Good luck!
