Beginning to plan a very special trip in honor of DD7 (she has been through hell and back), and we promised her it would be very special.
SO, please help me brainstorm some really great and memorable things for this trip! Bibbidy Bobbidy Bootique is out, she just isn't into the whole princess deal... I think I will send her and DS3 on a pirate cruise (which one is best by the way??), but after that I am drawing a blank. Please help me! Any and all suggestions are welcome!

A coral reef diver maybe??

Definitely do some character dinings! Character dinings make our trips. We have more fun there than anywhere else on property ;)

A late dinner at O'Hana for the fun and games (and good food) so you can see Wishes from your table (ask in advance, they pipe in the music throughout the restaurant) and then after dinner go down to the beach to watch the water parade. Also some horseback riding/carriage rides at Fort Wilderness followed by the campfire/sing-a-long/movie with Chip and Dale are always a big hit with us. Hope she has a great time and so happy you are able to celebrate. Congrats!

Ooooohh I second 'Ohana for a late dinner... best food in the world!! Seriously! And breakfast there is my fave too LOL

Go to HDDR. It is my kids favorite show/meal and it is so much fun for the whole family. It is a must do every trip for us.

The Coral Reef stopped doing divers this year, sorry.

Has she ever been to WDW before? If not, I'm not sure you need anything more "special" than the place itself. Maybe choose a resort on the monorail, or one with a particularly great pool.

Oh, and sign up for a fairy godmother on the family board, and someone will send her a postcard ahead of time, anticipating her trip.

No divers?? AGH! What is this world coming to? hehe. That really SUCKS!

We were fortunate enough to get one last year, along with personalized menus. But they stopped at New Years.

A Pirate cruise would be awesome, but DS has to be four to participate I think. How about a mom and daughter only high tea at the Grand Floridian? That would be extra special. How about if you all make tshirts together before you leave and then all get Mickey Ears at MK and have your picture taken in front of the Castle? Very memorable:) oh, and get to MK at rope drop and head straight to Main Street and take a ride on the horse drawn carriage. It goes up Main Street to the Castle and all the CMs wave to you with Mickey hand gloves. The Barbershop Courtet also sings to yoju on it!!! This was awesome, memorable and free:)

Some more ideas:

* I just read the BBB does a Cool Dudette style...colored gel and sprinkles (they also do a cool dude for boys!)

* leave out little Tink gifts...every time you leave the room or when you are sleeping, Tink comes and leaves a little surprise for the kids (sunglasses, goggles, invitation to character meal)...sometimes she leaves a trail of pixie dust behind (glitter)

* it would also be fun to make your own customized autograph books and Epcot passports...check out the Creative DISign board for inspiration

* there is also a Mad Hatter Tea party just for kids...but I think the minimum age is 4 also

* I always ask my kids to give me a hat fashion show at every country in Epcot, giftshop, etc.....end up w/some great pics!

Definitely character dining. Our favs are the Garden Grille at Epcot and 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian.

You could head over to Ft Wilderness and do the campfire sing-a-long, roast marshmallows, meet Chip N Dale, and stay for the outdoor movie one evening.

A Wishes Cruise? Or the Princess Tea at the Grand Floridian? We're contemplating doing one of those two this fall when we go.

Go resort hopping (not pool hopping, which is not allowed). We like to go to each resort, play on the different playgrounds, rent surrey bikes at Coronado Springs, have ice cream at Beaches N Cream at the Beach Club, see all the neat decor, look out on the savannah at Animal Kingdom Lodge, etc.

Go to Downtown Disney, have dinner at the T-Rex Cafe. Bring a change of clothes and play in the fountains (free!). My kids love the fountains.

HDDR is wonderful and one of my FAVORITE shows to see in the Kingdom!!! She (and the rest of your family) will love it!!! If you're doing Disney Dining - you can even use Dining points to cover the cost (it will take 2 table service meals per person from your plan though) - but totally worth it! Enjoy!!!

We reserved a boat one night and decorated it with balloons, etc., for my husband's birthday. The boat took us into the lagoon and we had a beautiful view of the Epcot Illuminations show. It was just our family, and very special. You need to reserved 90 or 120 days out though.

Ooooohhhh! You guys are the BEST! I knew I could count on you all for the best ideas of all time!!! We have been before (this will be DD's 4th trip I think), but we just typically stick to the parks and have never done the "extras".

SLK1, would you mind sharing how much it cost to charter the boat?

HDDR would be so much fun, but one question, we also have DD4months (she will be more like 7-9 months old when we go - haven't solidified a date for the trip yet); has anyone ever seen infants there? I am totally willing to take her out if necessary, but would I be the only crazy lady with a baby there???

Love love love the carriage ride ideas! DD7 is horseCRAZY! DISNEYNV, that is the best tip I have read on these boards yet! I am on here all the time and haven't read that one before!

We did high tea once, and we both loved it! Can't wait to do it Disney-style, what a great suggestion!

Thank you one and all for all the great ideas I can't even list them all! Please keep the ideas coming! This will brighten DD's life so much, I can't thank you all enough!!!!

My DD did the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party at the GF and it was fantastic. They sit at a tea table with teapots (with apple juice) and little cupcakes to decorate. Then they are joined by Alice and the Mad Hatter for some fun and games.

Would highly recommend it.

We did Hoop Dee Doo Revue with a 7 month old. He slept most of the show and when he woke up they brought over a highchair for him to sit in. He enjoyed the show just as much as the rest of us. And they made such a fuss about how cute and little he was. It was fun.

Sorry...that was about three years ago and don't remember the cost. I'm guessing $200????? Just call 407WDISNEY and they should be able to help you out. Sorry!:upsidedow

With all these great tips you are going to have the best time! I have two more:)

Check out the TripleD ranch if you head over to the Wilderness Campground so DD can see the horses! They have horseback riding and pony rides too. I am not positive on the age restriction for the riding but it might be six? If not there are the ponies:)

They have a NEW tethered hotair balloon ride attraction at Down Town Disney! Not sure if your DD can tolerate heights or not but that looks fun. I believe it is opening soon (if not already so).

There are just too many cool things that Disney has to offer! Have a great trip.

Oh, and if you choose to have the kids hair done at the barbershop on Mainstreet, get there as early as possible! A line tends to form rather quickly. We got DSs first haircut there this past December and had to wait a bit... But it was sooooo worth the wait... As most things are at Disney:)
