Need your help please - fancy dress

DH has just told me this morning that he needs a medieval fancy dress costume for a gig his band his playing on THURSDAY!!!! Men!!!!

I know it would be easier (and less hassle) to just try and hire one but the cost of the hire would probably wipe out any money he gets paid for the gig so he wants to make one.

This is where you come in - has anyone got any ideas on what we can use, how we can make it or what it should look like.

All help greatly appreciated

I managed to cobble together an angel outfit for DD yesterday out of an old sheet but I think this would be beyond me.

I'd make him a jester though as punishment for the late notice

Don't tempt me. Why couldn't it have been anything else - medieval has got to be the hardest thing to try and cobble together.

Something tells me the skills I picked up from watching Blue Peter as a child, coupled with egg boxes and sticky-backed plastic are not going to help me here
