I'm trying to book our trip and southwest's web site does not have may 11th open yet I just need that 1 day when are they going to have it so I can book 5-5 to 5-11? Sorry I just needed to get it out LOL I will just have to keep checking their site!

id book the flights for 5/5 so you have the best pick of flights and prices then book the return flight when it gets released. i had to do that last oct because the release only went half way through my trip

i tried to do this with one of our trips-but the cost break was so much better on a r/t ticket i could'nt justify doing it. so i just ended up hitting the southwest site every day until it opened up. we just made our hotel and other ressies figuring since i was hitting the site everyday and we were'nt looking to travel a holiday week it would be much of a problem to get the flights we wanted.

I understand your frustration. Orginally we were driving, but I was outvoted. I then got tired of waiting on SW, so we booked with airtran...I like the times, and the fares are not to bad

The sale for the beginning of May is already on or has passed. I have seen a couple of DINGS already. I have bought before and waited for the schedule to come out. It's better to get the sale when you see it! Especially if you want that particular flight.

I'm waiting too. I've booked my flight down on 5/9 but I'm patiently waiting for the dates to open up to book on 5/16.

It's making me crazy!!!

Fare Compare will email you when the flight or deals come up. They are much better than the travel websites like travelocity.

They also have historical data you can use to decide if the sales are coming or going. I found it very valuable. Fare compare said the tickets available two weeks ago were not good deals- I waited and they emailed me with new fares which I booked. I ended up getting tickets to CA in May that the airline website didn't even post. I am waiting for my FLA tickets to come up now, for June.

Be very careful with checking...my sister checked (albeit for spring break) and on the day her dates opened up, she couldn't get ahold or her DH...a few hours later when she did to check on schedule info, the good prices were gone. I'm also looking for early May beyond 5/10 too...I'm hoping it won't be as crazy as the spring break fares...good luck!

Southwest opened up their dates today. I got a $54 flight home!! I hated only having the flight down booked-it made me a nervous wreck.

Go and book your flight!
