Need to make money for my Disney Trip

My disney funds are being taken from me for personal bills that were unexpected so I am trying to find a way to earn my disney fund without taking away too much from my family time too..I would like to do something from home so I can still be here for my daughter...I don't know where to begin since I don't know if the work from home sites I find are true or not...ANY IDEAS???

Welcome! You've come to a good place! You didn't mention if your trip was coming soon, or if it is more of a "someday" plan, but for either of those, just start surfing the pages here to see where & how you can save!

I don't do the work at home stuff (since I work outside of the home FT), but other ways I've heard about saving $$ for a trip is to cut coupons, save money in the household, then whatever you've saved goes towards the trip. If the trip is coming up soon, you could sell stuff (on craigslist or ebay, or have a garage sale), to come up with some money as well.

Or, and I hate to say it, if your finances are that tight that your money saved is being used for an emergency, you probably ought to hold of on going to Disney anyway - it's not going anywhere!

Can you Craigslist some things you don't need/ aren't using from around the house? Seriously I'm CLing my way through the house and that's going to pay for our new APs in January. If we're not using it it's getting listed. Seriously it's amazing to get rid of something (less clutter!) and get paid for it!!

Well, you either need to get a job or cut expenses. Neither is fun, but it is the only way to have additional $$.

Look closely at your budget, are there areas you can cut for a while? Can you shave $100 off of groceries and eating out per month for several months?

Can you cut your cable, cell bill, or shopping for a while?

Maybe Christmas can be hand made this year???

I like the suggestion of watching a child or two to make a few extra bucks. Also, cutting out extras where you can.

On the flip side, be wary of any "work at home" jobs or "home based business" opportunities. Many of them are barely legitimate, and many of the few that are will require time/effort commitments that you may not be able to make (given that you say you want to "still be there for your daughter")

this mom of two has almost $3000 saved since this past june by couponing, surveys, saving change etc. on the website she explains to people new to couponing how she is able to save. she has been able to take her family of four to disney at least once a year without taking on a part time job or changing anything from her family's budget.

another thing that helps me afford disney is to check for discount/coupon codes for disney vacations. disney usually offers free dining or a percentage off of your room. just look on the main page of the dis. they always list deals for disney. if you can get package for less $$$ why not!

i also usually book during value season and go when they offer free dining or a room discount. value season has the lowest hotel rates of the year. hope this helps.

Lots of great ideas above! A friend of ours donated plasma. She worked on coupons/sales/bills, etc while she was there to free up some extra time at home. I think she donated twice a week for a year and paid for a trip for their family of 4. I think her husband went with her a few times also to help out. She said it only took about an hour each time she went.

No offense, but this is just a huge pet peeve of mine. There aren't jobs in the "real world" where you can have your child there while paying attention to and doing your job, so why do people think that just because it's a work at home job, it would be appropriate for your child to be there? If it's a job, you still need to be focused on your work, and you can't be focused on your work and your child at the same time. Ok, now that I'm off my soap box....

There are many legitimate work at home jobs, but again, nothing you can do with your child there, and most require you to already have some workable skills. Transcriptionist, medical coding and billing, freelance writing and internet marketing are all jobs which frequently are worked from home, but you either need experience or to have education in that area. There are also many entry level positions doing customer service from home, however, many are extremely low paying. You're an independent contractor so they pay you per minute you're on the phone. Most of the time, you're lucky to even make minimum wage. And also, when you're self employed, your taxes are higher because of the SEP tax and you have to pay the full amount into Social Security (if you're a W-2 employee, your employer pays 1/2 for you, but not for 1099 employees) So prior to accepting any work at home position, make sure you're actually going to be making any money. And always google the business name and look them up on BBB.com to make sure there aren't complaints.

You haven't said how much money you're looking for, but maybe things like watching an extra child during the week, babysitting on the weekends for a friend, or petsitting while your family and friends are on vacation will be enough to get you there.

All the SAHM's of young children I know who do work from home jobs do it in the evenings or naptime while their children are sleeping. Not sure why this is such an issue for you? Or they do it with older kids. My mom worked from home, teaching piano lessons, for years. All through my elementary school years (and obviously beyond) I entertained myself in the other room, knowing she was handy if there was an emergency.

I'm not saying every work at home job can be done with children around, but many can.

I'm a high school math teacher.

During my SAHM years I did a LOT of freelance writing. It was mostly math-related. Some articles on teaching and parenting, but mostly content for education websites.

I also did a LOT of tutoring. (Though for this I paid the kids across the street to act as Mother's Helpers, watching the kids upstairs while I tutored in the dining room.)

As someone else mentioned, it would be easier to help you if we knew about your educational background.

Don't know how legal this is but every year about this time, I see an ad in the local paper from someone advertising to make holiday cookies. He/she sells them by the dozen. I have a friend from Australia who makes Pavlovas and sells them for extra money. Do you have a specialty?

My daughter is 11 and I am looking to work while she is in school. My husband and I have our own business now but things are really slow so the money we do make is paying the bills. I am looking to make an extra $300 a month. Our vacation isnt till fall of 2012 so I have some time and I do my research for discounts and such for the resorts etc.....

Ways that make money online is

swagbucks really easy to and I cash out every week either for amazon or paypal.

irazoo is easy to but slower earn

zoombucks is really easy but slow earn

irazoo and zoombucks I just do videos and searchs.

gifthulk I just do the videos on

quickrewerds.net that do surveys on to make money either cash out with paypal or gift cards.

Also when I take the kids to playground that I pick up coke cans and cash them in for money too.

I have paid for various vacations and Christmas over the years. I just paid for all Christmas with Amazon gift cards. Paid trip to Atlanta for Jan. It can be done it just take a lot time.

I am not sure I will get 300 month during it. But I do pretty good.
