Okay, I made an error and booked the 8pm Luau on the night that we were supposed to go to MNNSHP (9/22). The luau is all booked for the rest of the our trip but we can go to MNNSHP on the day we arrive (9/18). I have an ADR for the Garden Grill @ 7:55pm that day but I'd rather go the the party. Problem is .... I need help choosing a different restaurant that's close to MK. I thought I could switch days and go the the Crystal palace on 09/18 but it's booked. I really don't want to duplicate other ADR's but if I have to I guess I can. FYI... this is my first time to WDW.

Here's my original ADR's
9/18 - Coral Reef for lunch - 2pm, Garden Grill for dinner
9/19 - Boma for breakfast, Sci Fi for lunch, HDDR for dinner
9/20 - Chef Mickey for Lunch, Crystal Palace for dinner
9/21 - Tusker House For Breakfast, Sanaa for lunch, 1900 PF for dinner
9/22- CRT for breakfast, Liberty Tavern for lunch and Luau for dinner
9/23 - Ohana Breakfast, San Angel for lunch

You could do Kona Cafe at the Poly and then just take the boat over to the MK. Or Citricos or Narcoosees at the GF. OR the Wave or California Grill at the Contemporary and lastly you can do Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge too. All are close enough to the MK.

Wherever you go, make sure you do an early dinner! I find its very important at the Halloween Party to be there in the park in plenty of time for the party.

I am betting most of the places inside the MK are booked with many of the monorail resort restaurants booked early as well. You might try the Plaza Inn. Its right in the MK, has great burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads and amazing desserts. Its a very nice place, low key and usually easy enough to get into. Tony's is another one, we enjoy it there, the Italian won't go down as the most authentic in the world but we like it.

You could also do a nice lunch someplace else earlier in the day. Usually on a party night, we do that, then take a break to rest so that we can be fresh and rested for the party and stay for the whole thing.

This is the 1st time we will be doing the party... I made a 5:15 at O'hana... will that be OK?

TIA :flower3:

You can get into the party at 4:00. Not sure if I would make late dinner plans on a day I was going to the party.

To the person that had 5:15 at 'Ohana - the last time we went to 'Ohana and had 5:00 reservations - when we arrived at the restaurant (at least 20 minutes early for our resedrvations) there must have been a line of at least 25 people ahead of us. 'Ohana is a great place and I would hate to rush through dinner when you can get into the party early.

We always like to do a late lunch when we are going to a Christmas or Halloween party. This way we can snack while at the parties and enjoy all going on and not spend time sitting down eating.

I would also suggest a nice lunch earlier in the day and then try a CS during the party for dinner. We usually grab something at Cosmic Rays the night of the party, but that is usually later into the night. Then we have a late dessert outside of the Main Street Bakery and watch the Boo to You parade! :thumbsup2

We wanted to do a sitdown on the MNSSHP on Sept 4th but nothing was availble so we decided to just grab something at Columbia Harbour House.

Yes, I think a 5:15 at O'Hana is pushing things. Every time I have been there (many times) its been a long wait past my ADR time. I think you'd be arriving to the party more like around 7:00 at least and bear in mind, you'd have to wait in line to get in, do bag check etc.

As another poster said, they let you in with your party ticket at 4:00. We have always arrived somewhere between 4:00 and 6:00. If we arrive closer to 6:00, we eat before we get there. Our first party, it was also our first ever WDW trip. We arrived and had to eat dinner, (did cs), we ended up wasting time and didn't get everything done that night. The parade, fireworks, trick or treat stations and rides are what you are paying for so you might as well not spend that time eating is my opinion.
