You guys always have such good ideas. So, we need to get a new camera. I do not want to buy a digital one, I'm just an old fashioned film type of gal.

I want a good 35mm for less than $200.00. I would appreciate any feedback you could give. I really just take pictures of family and our activities. I need this camera for our upcoming Disneyland trip! YEAH!!!!

Thanks and have a great Disney day.

Hi-
I'm not sure if you want a point & shoot type of camera with auto-focus or you are looking for an SLR, but I would check out epinions.

I personally have way too many cameras and have a nice point & shoot (Pentax IQ Zoom-under $150) and a reasonably priced SLR (Nikon N60-about $200). Most reviews on epinions are helpful and can give you more info about the different functions of each camera.

If you post more about what kind you want I can help with models and prices.

HTH!

I know that I want an SLR camera. I would like to be able to have some control over my pictures if I want. I use to have an Olympus OM10.

With the Nikon N60 will I have to buy a lens and a flash? Or can I buy them in a kit? I do remember reading on Epinions that the Nikon's are great cameras.

Do you have a special place that you order from? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I have the Minolta QTsi - got it off eBay for $169 and I love it. It came with the built in flash and a basic lens. I have since added the 210mm lens and love it. It has several different options, but is also very easy to use.

When you buy the N60 camera body, it comes with a built-in flash and a basic lens, then you can buy add-ons if necessary.

I normally buy my cameras locally (Rowe Photo & Video) but I have heard some good things about KEH Camera Brokers to buy online or of course from eBay.

The Minolta QTsi is a great camera too, someone from my running group has one and took some great pics of Niagara Falls recently. Felt like I was right there!

As a photographer, I have tons of cameras but I don't like bringing my big (EXPENSIVE) SLR's with me to Disney. I wanted to have a small point and shoot zoom that I could use as my DH uses the digital...

(He say the digital is "mmm-ours". This is the word he invented to say I know we said it was for us but it's REALLY for him... )

I got the nicest little camera for $239 CANADIAN plus tax...It's a Pentax Espio 135.

I love it. It has a decent zoom and the functions on the camera are very easy to use. Combined with a very small (spider-pod) tripod and 200 or 400 speed film, it's the greatest.

My pics were crisp and clear. It also has a panoramic function and red-eye reduction.

There are some reviews there. Hope this helps.

I also think it's important to have a camera that you feel comfortable with. If you are holding it and you don't feel comfortable, don't buy it. My husband has big hands and even he can use it without getting his fingers in front of the lens or flash.

Review the store's exchange policy and take a test roll in many different lighting situations as possible and get it developed right away. Use 200 or 400 for in the day and for really dark night shots like Spectromagic, use 800.

If you have any other questions, PM me...:D

PhotobearSam,

Thanks for the information. I too am looking for a new camera, not digital. I currently have a Chinon which was great for 10 years, but now takes blurry pictures very often, even though held steady. It was dropped two times, and I think the sprockets that automatically move the film slip now because of that.

I would like to get a camera with auto focus, built in flash, and a zoom capability of 35mm-80mm or greater. Clear crisp pictures and good color desperately wanted. I'd like to keep the price under $150. Any other recommendations? I was looking at a Canon camera too. Any info appreciated!:):):)

Have I got a deal for you!
We have 2 digital cameras(the only cameras we use now) and 4 35mm Cameras. If you pay the shipping you can have an almost new Canon Sure Shot Zoom-S 38-60mm or a Vivitar PZ3140 38-140 (needs new battery). The Vivitar is new maybe 3 rolls of film though it. Both cameras are just sitting here un used. Save your money for some fun!
Mike :)

Very generous, Canyon.

How nice to see the Dis community helping each other in ways other than information.

I have a Nikon N65QD SLR and love it, but I won't take it to Disney because it is large and I won't want the lens banging around on rides. Get a small point and shoot to take in the parks.
