Hey all! me and my girlfriend are heading to Disney on oct 17 thru the 22nd. After talking with travelocity, we have a price of $1260 for the two us for:

a morning flight on tuesday oct. 17th to disney
5 nights at Port Orleans
An evening departure flight on sunday oct. 22nd

So hotel and flight it comes out to $1260 for the two of us. Is this a good deal or should I go elsewhere? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

What's the usual cost for a flight? Is that room only or does it include MYW tickets? Park hoppers--- yes or no? Need more info to tell if it is a good deal or not, but what I would suggest is you go to the Disney World site and price it out there with the same options you'd be getting from Travelocity (that's what I would have to do to figure out if it's a good deal or not)...that would give you a good comparison.

Def. go through the Disney site.. They give you awesome deals on Hotel room, tickets, and dining.. saving you a LOAD of money.. flight wise.. try JetBlue? They usually have one way flights for 99 each.

It'll save you a lot, I promise.

You can't book online this close with the "special" your best bet is to call disney direct and see what they can do for you.

Try the code BRY for discount... who knows, maybe they will help you out.

Boy, that's a great deal considering you're paying for 2 rooms! I know you and your GF wouldn't stay in the same room ;)

Mom

Well considering it's not 1955 anymore and we're both mature 29 year olds, I'm sure my mother wouldn't mind a bit ;)

I cannot seem to find any deal that is cheaper. It has the Port Orleans resort just by itself for 5 nights for $871.90. That seems the same price as I would pay with travelocity and jetblue tickets.

Travelocity quote (airfare round trip and 5 nights hotel(port orleans)) = $1260.00

Disney online site hotel for 5 nights (port orleans) and jetblue airfare = $1270

Is there anything i WOULDNT be getting if I went thru travelocity? Whats hte advantage of going thru Disney if its the same price?

What airport are you leaving from?

...and do you already have tickets? Taking a Disney Package with tickets has one distinct advantage: airport transfers w/Disney's Magical Express.

If you are getting the same price I guess there is no advantage. Are you getting your park tickets? If you need park tickets I would go through the DIsney site with the special they are offering for October. Not sure how much of a special it is, but hey worth looking into. As for an advantage....like I said none that I can think of. I guess I just always like to book through Disney, another part of my addiction I gues...lol!!! I like getting the official paperwork right from Disney and when I call I like the Disney hold music!! LOL!! Regardless of what you do HAVE FUN!!!!

Flying out of Westchester Airport in New York. or any surrounding NYC airport if I can find the cheapest.

I just checked the JetBlue website, and for roundtrip tickets for the two of us it would be $700!!! Thats way over the top considering I can get airfare/hotel for $1260. Thats about $200-300 more if I booked thru disney/jetblue websites opposed to the travelocity deal.

OK - the special is no longer available.....although the link is still there on their site. I would call Disney though as another poster has suggested and see if there are any specials that you can get!! Good luck and have fun!

After some quick key-punching, this is what I found for you, using your criteria:

Flights: Continental Airlines out of EWR (Newark) for $177.10/person.
Hotel: Hotel only reservation through Disney for POR, $871.90/total.

Grand total: $1226.10

Keep in mind that if you need tickets, this is an extra expense, not included with room only reservations. If you want to factor tickets, re-price a package through Disney's site- the difference is approximately $437 w/two MYW base tickets. Their package would include airport transfers, which is not included with room only reservations.

I also realize that the flight I listed leaving MCO is a tad early- this is with the best pricing possible. If you want something more on tap with your original request, it will cost a little more than your Travelocity reservation

Flight re-price: Airtran Airways out of HPN, $238.00/person

Another Grand total: $1347.90

That's $174/night for POR. little steep. I'd call and see if they will give you one of the discounted rooms... never hurt!! If they won't give it to you, do your original plan, keep in mind your park tickets will run around $550 extra!

Love the Mom banter. Too funny. :rotfl:

Did you try leaving on Monday instead of sun? When my family was trying to fly out, it was near $70 more for Sunday .. so might try Monday if you can do it.

I am not sure if Southwest Airlines services your airport, but they have internet fares from $59 OW. We just planned a very last minute trip and were unable to get the "special rate" BRY due to it being after the deadline Sept 30)...but we found airfare from chicago for $54 OW, with taxes and fees, etc. The total was $109 RT, which I thought was not bad being it was 10 day prior. We are leaving this Thursday morning and returning on Tuesday afternoon. I did as much research as I could in a very short about of time, and found the tickets were cheaper through the link provided in the mousesavers newsletter. IF you are not a subscriber, sign up....the special link is added onto the newsletter and it quotes $3 cheaper on rates. Or you can just call Undercover Tourist or log onto their website to get their rates. They are running a special now for 3-4-5 day hoppers with extra days to make it equal 6 days (for example, 3 day hopper with 3 free days, 4 day hopper with 2 free days) for adult $247.

We were looking for 4 day hoppers and were quoted over $100 more through WDW package.
I had a very lengthy conversation with UT today regarding the tickets and they are actually giving you a 6 day hopper for the price of a 3 day. It is just a special they are offering now since they have an abundance. Since we are leaving next week, we paid the extra $10 for express shipping. Otherwise standard shipping is FREE. The only drawback is no dining option available....(we are not using, since we are staying at the cabins with full kitchen and have 3 yr old and 1yr old-probably eat most BKFST and LNCH at room). IF the dining option is a must, then go with WDW. Hope it helps...Will be leaving when you are arriving...probably pass you at the airport.
