Need to ask a question on how to do this

Hi i have just finalized my trip in may with SW new flights out today. I had awhile ago booked to leave May 6th and today booked may16th to come home. Soooo I called hubby told him YAY i got our return flight on the 16th all booked. He says to me, well what about the 17th you can book it to come home then, I said I already booked the 16th ... he says I am giving you an extra day there if you want to come home on the 17th. Anyways if i decide to come home on the 17th how do i go about canceling the 16th and getting the 17 with the credit do i have to do it online or can I call in to do it?

You can do it all online. You need to open up one screen with your new reservation. You need to have another screen open to cancel your previous trip, then you'll have ticketless travel funds. Once you've cancelled your trip and have the confirmation number then you put it in the new reservation. Make sure for the new reservation you have gotten all the way to purchasing to make sure you have the seats allotted to you!
