Need swimsuit help!!

I don't know if this is the right forum or not, but I thought you guys could help me! I am going to need a new swimsuit this year (ugh) and I can't exactly go pick up any old suit and look decent in it. I was hoping I wouldn't need "plus size" but I'm still size 16-18 and very "top heavy". I need something with a built in bra and one that holds everything in. I guess I need liposuction Anyone with any good suits and where to get them? I hate to drag my 3 year old all over town looking for bathing suits for mommy!

I feel your pain!! Buying a swimsuit is a very painful experience for me too! I'm a size 10, but have heavy inner thighs, so I'm particular about my suits as well. I've actually seen some nice suits at Target, and J.C. Penny. The ones at Target would probably be a little more affordable. Hope this helps! Good luck! Let the swimsuit adventure begin!

Lands End has an awesome website that has a virtual model that you create and then put the swimsuit of your choice on her! Kind of sad when you put all the parts together what your end result is , but it helps to see the suit on a more realistic body type. Their suits are very well-made and worth the investment! Of course it is still the most harrowing experience (in my opinion) next to our yearly exams

I got a nice Speedo at Sam's club for 22.00, also have found nice suits at Kohls' with the slimming features-hope that helps

Go To Nordstrom Or Jc Penny's & Try On The Miracle Suit For You Size, Style And Color.

Go On Ebay, & Buy One, For Half The Cost.

The Miracle Suit Will Make You Look At Least 10 Pounds Thinner.

I think most of us need help finding a bathin suit LOL!!!
I know when I'm in the dressing room trying them on, I wish for the old days when women had to be covered top to bottom to go swimming, like in the 1920's

I just bought a (new) bathing suit by Carol Wior off eBay. They carry her suits at JCPenney (in my area) and I saw one I liked there & tried it on, but since they weren't having one of their perpetual sales, I figured I'd get it another time. I happened to look on eBay and bought the same suit for like $35.00, compared to over $80 at Penney's. Her suits have a nice form fitting inner layer to help "suck it in, lol!" and I like it. This is the suit I bought and since I am larger on top it worked well. I'm wearing size 14/16 things now and the 14 fits terrific.

I love Longitude suits. I'm 5'8" with broad shoulders, so always wore a two-piece when I was younger. However, now, well, let's just say I'm doing everyone a favor wearing a one piece.

The Longitude suits have the slimmer panels but are also seem to fit me much better length-wise. I bought mine this year at J.C. Penney, but got another one a few years ago at either T.J. Maxx or Marshall's. They both carry nice brand name suits - only thing is, you really have to pick to find a good one.

Good luck! Bathing suit shopping is traumatic, to say the least...

Being a busty gal myself, I suggest either the Carol Wior mentioned above or Jantzen. Though I've often bought mine at Wal-Mart or Sears. Good Luck!

I bought a Baltex at Sears. I'm a size 8, but I am very busty and have heavy legs. The suit I bought has nice coverage and support. It just happened to be on sale 40% off.

I love how the magazines show suits for "big busts," "tummy bulge," "large thighs," etc. But there is never a suit for "all of the above"! Now that would be a miracle suit.

I too am very busty on top and find all my suits at Walmart or Sears. Both stores have one pieces with built in bras. I used to buy them at Marshall Fields for $100+ and got sick of it so the last few years I've been at Walmart and Sears, this way I can get 3 suits each year instead of just one

I'd second Lands End. The virtual model really helped me pick a suit and the nice thing about them - if they're still doing this like they were last year when I last looked- is that they let you mix and match on certain suits. So if you're a large top and smaller bottom, they let you buy different tops or bottoms. I actually got a tank top suit that when I raise my arms stays down. I can't use one pieces because I'm too tall. But this was made for a tall person.

Plus, you don't have to feel bad trying on a suit in public. You can try it on when you get it delivered and if you don't like it, return it.

AMEN! Though "Glamour" magazine usually has one for Plus Sizes, modeled by a girl at a size 12. *sigh*

Hi, definitely Lands End I think they're fab www.landsend.com they have alot of swimwear overstocks at the moment so the prices are great.

The best thing is, you can order and try in the comfort of your own home (bought 3 tankinis last year and felt very supported!!!)

These are great bathing suits, they hide the bad spots!!
I just got back from J.C. Pennys and I love there swimsuits. I tried on the one you bought but it didn't look great on me, but I did get this one http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/Produc...temTyp=G&GrpTyp=SIZ&ItemID=0b1d564&ProdSeq=1& . Expect that it's a one piece suit and it black and white. They didn't have it online, but this is close to it. The best thing about it is taht I wear a size 14 but the size 10 fits so well!!! Also our Penny's is having a big sale and I got mine for 48.00 with taxes.

Lane Bryant had a great selection of suits--several with great support on top. They also sell them in separate pieces so you can get the right size on the top and the bottom.

They're not cheap, though. They looked to average about $80.

I'm generally tiny but top-heavy. I have bought suits every year from Lands End because they have great underwire suits. Unfortunately this year they don't have much of a selection. I ended up going to, of all places, Amazon.com and browsing their huge selection of swimsuits. I found a very nice tankini with underwire by Carabella--ordered it and it has great support.
