My husband just left for his six month training as a Leutenant in the National Guard. I'm left with my dachshund Freddie and my kitty Daphne (however, she goes by "Meow Meow") So sad!

My stepson (17) left two weeks ago for the Marines. He actually graduated early from high school so he could go. As scared as his father and I are, we a just completely in awe of him and couldn't be more proud. I will keep your husband in my prayers as I do my stepson and all the other brave men and woman who give of themselves for our freedom.

I find the best way to get through any deployment is to plan a Disney trip.

I love the DIS. It puts my life in perspetive. My DH is in Guatemala for 9 days. He's gone over my birthday and Valentine's Day. We won't talk at all, except for a brief conversation tonight, and I'm sad and feeling sorry for myself. Then I read this, and I need to be happy. A week is not very long at all.
