Need suggestions taking live shots.

I am a camera novice. I have a Lumix DMC-TZ4. I have been trying to take pictures at my kids wrestling matches. They are coming out extremely blurring. I have used IA,Sports setting, baby, pet etc... Can anyone help me as to what I am doing wrong. Would high speed burst work? Thank you.

I am guessing (from my experience with high school gyms), there is not enough light and the shutter speed is too slow. Can you tell us what shutter speeds was used on those blurry photos? Also, the aperture and ISO the camera is reporting would help, too.

You many not be doing anything wrong. You just may have reached the limits of your camera. Posting some samples will help us diagnose your problem.

Indoor action shots without a flash are one of the hardest things for any camera to do well. The more motion you have, the faster the shutter speed you need to freeze the action. But in a poorly lit gym you rarely have enough light to get the fast shutter speed you need. So you end up getting a slower shutter speed (because its the best the camera can do with the light you have) and the result is usually blurry pictures.

I have mid-quality dSLR with a fast-ish lens and it was still pushing it to get shots at my son's last wrestling match.
