We are going to be at WDW for a week in the beginning of June. I am looking for suggestions for good, supportive sandals to wear the entire time we are there. I really don't want to wear tennis shoes in case they get wet, plus they will be hot.

I've looked at Keens, but they are mostly "covered". I would like something a little more open.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have had great success with Fit Flops and the Croc flip flops they sell in WDW when my original pair of FF's blew out (they were very old though and it was definitely time).

Teva. I swear by them. Had mine for years and they are great in heat or water. No issues.

What style? I wore Teva Mush flip flops the week we were there last year and I could barely walk by the time we went home because my heels hurt so bad. I'm used to wearing flip flops, so that wasn't it - it was because they"mushed" so thin after standing on them for 15+ hours a day for a week.

I have lived in FL for 8 years and had dozens of summer trips. Flip flops can be tempting but there are a lot of drawbacks; sunburn, swelling, in the rain they slip and slide; I've twisted my ankle many times. And my feet got filthy! No supportive flips were perfect

I only just recently bought a high end pair of breathable running shoes and wore them with ankle socks. It was extremely hot and though my "dogs were barking" my feet were much happier on day 2+

Try the sandals recommended but invest in a very nice pair of sneakers too if you like. Aesics or Mizunos over $200 you can find at Shoe Carnival for >$50. Good luck and happy feet!!!

Finn Comfort!!!!! I wore them the entire week I was there and I was the ONLY one that didn't have any foot pain whatsoever! I bought sandals for Disney and I also have a pair of slip on Mary Janes that I bought when I was pregnant. I wore them every day for 5 1/2 years straight and they look brand new (I have them on now!) They are expensive but SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it!!!!!!!!

I wear croc toe posts, they are very comfy, but whatever ones you choose don't do what I did on my first trip and wear new shoes :sad2: blisters are no fun with all that walking
cal :)

I love my crocs. I wear them all day at home. I'm very overweight and these were the first kind of flip flops I could wear without my feet/legs hurting.

I've tried a lot of different things, but the Keen Whisper sandals seem to work the best for me. A less covered up option that I really like is the Columbia Sunrise toe ring sandal, but my pair is the original and was discontinued several years ago. I have no idea how the new ones are; the styling is quite different.

I do try to mix up my shoes while doing the major walking thing; that would keep the Mush sandals from mushing down too much (I do have 5 pr and love them for every day wear, just not for the parks).

Yellow Box. I wear them every year to WDW. I have many pairs. The support is great and lots of styles to choose from!

Get some chacos. They are the only shoe reccomended by the American podiatry Association. They are amazing. I have the the one with a toe loop, and one without as well as the flip vibe.

I only ever wear flip flops, except to work out. I have had knee surgery and was concerned about having enough cushion and support for my knee. I bought these Reef Flip Flops and love them. I bought them for our June trip to Disney, so I have not worn them for a day at Disney yet, but I have done 2 5K walks wearing them. They felt great on my feet and no problems with my knee.

I have the basic, old school Tevas and I love them. My particular pair is 10+ years old and going strong. I just bought my DD the same style.

I just looked it up and I think it is the "hurricane" style that I love.

Probably the best advice is to get out and try some on. As reported before, I like the Keen Whispers. The other Keens are ok; the Whisper style works really well for me.

My standard, every day sandal is the Teva Mush Olowahu. My sister can't stand the little ribbons, but I think they're swell.

My sister swears by Chacos. I can't stand them. Mom can't wear them. There is something about the arch support that makes them totally unwearable for me (I have flat flippers for feet).

So see what we recommend, then get out and walk around the store in several styles to decide what works for you.
