Need Suggestion to replace Hollywood & Vine

We will be at the Studios on Dec 12 for the extended hours. I have an ADR for dinner at Hollywood & Vine, but after reading some of the reviews, am trying to book the 50's Cafe instead. Is there a resort restaurant near the Studios that would be worth leaving the park for dinner instead of H&V?

We like the Captain's Grille, in the Yacht Club. It is a relaxing boat ride away.

My impossible to please DH love H&V. Thats the only problem with this board, sometimes you second guess yourself over and over cause of other peoples views
There are so many places other than there though... have you tried getting an Ohanas?

50's is fine. I've been there twice and enjoyed it both times. It's more about the experience than the food - don't expect gourmet dishes, just hot and plentiful comfort food.

i agree w/avalanche1997--you will have a great meal at 50's prime time. it is a lot of fun too!

@LovinPooh - Ohanas has been full ever since I first started trying to get ADRs.

I'll keep trying to get the 50's cafe and will put Capts Grille in my 'back pocket' as a fallback!

about 5 or so years ago, I saw very mixed reviews, leaning more toward the negative, but decided to "brave it" and go anyway. We were surprised that most of the food we tried was pretty good. We still go now and then but was able to get into 50's PT this visit so took that one instead. My own opinion is that the reviews are helpful but you can't go just on that because otherwise you may be overlooking something that may be pleasurable to you and the others in your group.
