Hi Everyone... we are expecting our second child in March:goodvibes , and we are looking into a double stroller. Here is our info:

Our oldest DD will be 3 when the baby is born, and still uses a stroller for shopping trips, theme parks, and walks around the park and neighborhood. She will sleep in a stroller. She is tall for her age and already weighs 31 pounds, so will most likely be bigger by March!

I mainly would like a double stroller for going on walks, which is how I excercise when on maternity leave. I need my older DD to be in a stroller for this, there is no way she could walk. We probably wouldn't need it until early- mid April or so, when the baby will be about 6 weeks old. We have a Graco travel system which is like brand new, which I will still use when I am not by myself or when my DD is not with me.

We looked at the new Graco double, I liked the looks of it, but m DH though it was too heavy. When he folded it up and picked it up, the first thing he said was,"There is no way I'm carrying this on and off the buses at Disney!" (you can see where our priorities are!)

We also tried the Peg Perego side by side and really liked it, it was so light and easy to fold. It seems easy to push, too.

Any advice and recs would be really apprecitaed.

We have the Peg Pegego Aria Twin and don't really like it. Because it is so lightweight it is difficult to push once both kids are in it - especially when one child is heavier than others. It is the worst on sidewalks. It runs into every bump in the sidewalk and just stops. We ended up purchasing a double jogger for walks this summer, now that DD is old enough to use it. My SIL has the Joovy Caboose. It is a sit & stand stroller and she loves it. I am thinking of getting one now that DS is getting older and doesn't like to sit in the stroller too much.

For the busses at Disney - we still use two lightweight strollers instead of a double. We find it easier to navigate the crowds and easier for the busses.

Best wishes for the new baby!

My DS turned 3 last August when I gave birth to DD. (Their b-days are 4 days apart!) He still needed a stroller and I wanted a Graco to snap the carseta into, etc... so I bought a Graco front and back stroller. It was heavy, but it folded pretty well and served me well until recently.

Now DS is 4 and he sits like a brick in the front of the stroller and makes it nearly impossible to navigate. DD is tall for a 1 year old and I was having trouble getting her in and out of the (seemingly) smaller back seat. I was so disappointed that I only got a year out of it! :sad2:

But then, anticipating a need for a good double stroller for WDW, I placed the Graco on ebay in hopes of collecting a few dollars to defray the cost of a new Baby Trend Sit N Stand. To my utter disbelief, the stroller sold for a whopping $141.50! - enough to buy the new stroller outright! :woohoo: (Apparently, my stroller model/fabric style was discontinued, and second time moms expecting twins were fighting for the pattern that matched their first set of infant gear.)

I liked the Graco because at the time, I needed to corral my DS and liked that the infant carrier was compatible (translation -safely attached) I like the Sit N Stand for the stage the kids are in now - it's light, easy to steer and is great for DS who likes to hop on and off all day.

We recently had a new baby and also have a three year old. We are in love with are new stroller. We live in a resort town and do alot of walking and the idea of having to push a wide double jogger frightens me. We bought a phil and teds stoller with the add on on the back. It is a single stroller that allows a a newborn to lie in back and the toddler to sit in front. It works out nice because know one even knows that there is a newborn in back. So people keep there hands off there new baby. When the baby is old enough to sit it once again converts to front and back upright seats. It is pricey but in my opion well worth it. This being said we are going to Disney in a couple of weeks and purchased one and borrowed another umbrella stroller. Even though I love the new stroller the idea of lugging it on and off the buses is not my idea of vacation.

thanks for the advice everyone.... keep it coming. I resist the idea of a sit and stand, becuase I feel that my DD will want to hop on and off all the time, and really wouldn't be comfortable on a long walk in one. I also keep thinking of Disney----she may still sleep in the stroller, and that is not an option with a sit and stand.

I'd go with a double jogging stroller with the swivel front wheel. We have the mountain buggy urban double and it's excellent, there is also the bob, valco, baby jogger, etc. All are a bit pricey and not sure of your budget. My 2nd choice would probably be to get a Maclaren or Inglesia double. But neither or great for walks and not real great for the early months with the infant in the carrier. Many of my friends have done the Graco for the first 5-6 months (get a used one) and then gotten a different stroller once baby is out of the carrier.

My kids are 2 yrs 8 months apart and my son is big (40 lbs and 40" at 3) so I needed something that went to a high weight limit. We got the joovy sit-n-stand and that worked ok with the baby in the carrier for shopping trips but we used the jogger for walks, theme parks, etc. Now, we mainly use our single peg with the footpegs on the back for shopping (baby is 10 months so can sit up right and DS rides on the back). The sit-n-stand is hard to push and isn't comfortable for the baby and I'm ready to get rid of it. There was a huge difference between 3 and 3.5 as far as how much our son chose to ride versus wanting and being able to walk. Not quite sure what we'll do for our next WDW trip. For disneyland where we drive down and then walk into the parks, we use our jogger and it's been fabulous!

Hey there! We just got back last week, and I absolutely LOVED the stroller I brought. It is the Jeep Wrangler side by side umbrella.
I have a lightweight 4 year old, but she's tall, and she still fit in the stroller well enough to fall asleep. My son is 11 months and he spent practically the whole week in it without complaint.
I bought the stroller just for disney, and will be selling it soon as well.
The things I particularly liked about the stroller:
Folded up fairly compact, just slightly bigger than a single umbrella
Has mesh backs, so the baby didnt get all sweaty
Has 2 stage recline, which isn't that much, but it was good enough for naps.
Has two cargo pockets on either side big enough for a small bottle of water, the kid's camera, and sunglasses.

What wasn't the best:
Tiny little sun canopies, each side has it's own, but they are tiny. I bought an additional sun canopy for the baby's side.
The foot rest isn't very big, so my ultra tall daughter kept dropping her foot onto the wheel in her sleep. Oh well!

It was an inexpensive stroller, worked it's purpose well, and I highly recommend it!
