Need Strategy for MVMCP please!

We are attending on December 17th and due to us not wanting to be squashed during the fireworks we have booked the Plaza view Fireworks Dessert Party. We will probably watch the second parade and the second stage show( obviously won't be concerned about the free cookies) and not really bothered about meeting characters but would meet Santa Goofy if que not too big.

Just wondering where would be the best place to watch the second parade and stage show after the fireworks and will we be likely to get a decent spot after we leave the Plaza viewing area?

We got great parade spots by being at the bottom of the steps of the train station as the entrance onto Main Street. For the stage show we just wondered into the hub area about 20 minutes before and kept moving up as space opened in front of us. We didn't have to squeeze in or obstruct others. We were just patient.

Was this for the second parade? We, too, have reservations for the plaza garden dessert party during MVMCP, but I'm debating whether it's even necessary. We don't really care where we stand for the parade. Is it reasonable to expect that we could find a spot (even in Frontierland) for the first parade around 8 pm? And then find a spot for the fireworks around 9:30 pm? Or is this just a pipe dream, LOL!

First parade. In 2012 we got a decent parade spot in Frontierland. Back then we did it the same as you: early parade and the 9:30 fireworks. We had a fireworks view on the bridge to Tomorrowland. OK for fireworks, not optimal (but OK) for castle projections.

That was out first party and I think we did fine. Last year we had better spots for both without doing a dessert party.
