Need some up-to-date info on AS Movies

We're wavering on where to stay (again) and are considering going back to All Star Movies. It's been almost 10 years since our stay there, tho, and I could use an update. So here goes:

1) I've heard about the recent complaint of bedbugs - does anyone know what Disney has done about that or have info to share?

2) Can you still borrow a luggage cart and haul your stuff to your room yourself?

3) What kind of shape are the rooms in? Have they done a refurb at Movies since the place opened? If not, I would think the rooms are beginning to need one. We wouldn't be put off by this as long as they're not just horrible but I'd like to know what to expect.

4) I know they did some work on the pool not long ago - did they change anything or was it just a maintenance thing?

We had a very good experience at Movies when my ds was about 7yo and now my 5yo dd really, really wants to stay there (at least today she does - she's as bad as her mother about changing her mind ). I feel like we'll probably pick Movies no matter what but I want to be prepared so that we're not too disappointed if it isn't the same. KWIM? Thanks in advance

We stayed at All Star Movies this past March and plan on staying there this March.
As far as the bed bugs. Sorry no answer to that. Didn't see or feel any when we were there.

Yes, you can borrow the luggage cart if you need to. We fly in and use Magic Express and our luggage is brought up by the wonderful CMs there. I was really impressed with the CMs there. They were super!!

IMO the rooms were fine. We were in the Dalmation area. It was fairly quiet, clean, and roomy enough for the four of us. This trip coming up just our youngest DD will be coming with DH and me, not our oldest since she is now married. So no doubt now we will have all sorts of room.

As far as the pool my guess is just maintence, since I never saw it before. All I can say is we thought it was great too. Have nothing negative to say about the resort.

Go ahead and book a room there and have a blast!! I know we will. I am so looking forward to our trip in March!!

Hi Susan - thanks for the report. We stayed in Dalmations when we were there, too and thought it was great. We had a 3rd floor room with a view of the entrance of the lobby. I thought at first that it would be awful but it turned out to be great - noise was not a problem (not even the buses pulling thru) and there was a pretty flower garden just below us. It was also a really short walk to the foodcourt and bus stops. Looks like there will just be 3 of us this trip too - my son has a big school trip in the spring and doesn't want to make another long road trip so soon. Hope you have a great trip!
