Hi there!

My mom will be joining me for a work trip to Orlando next month...staying 4 nights but will only go to a park for 1 full day. But I will have evenings free for dinner/resort exploring and we're open to going to any of the resorts. We don't want to go nuts $$$-wise, so I was thinking of choosing 2 restaurants for our 4 nt stay. We may only do 1. Some I have been thinking about:

Boma
Kona Cafe
Paradiso 37 (had no idea this was "Mexican" til I read the menu!)
Tusker House - for lunch if we go to AK on our park day
Yak-n-Yeti - see "Tusker House"
Kouzzina - I like greek food, but have not read great reviews

And any other suggestions would be great! Again, no park restaurants though! P.S. I know ressies are filling up and I may not get one but humor me anyway ;)

Boma was a very enjoyable meal. I really liked it there, and would definitely return.

I like Yak and Yeti a lot too. Not always completely consistent, but still very good.

I love Greek food, but Kouzzina fell really short for me. Everything was waaay oversalted and the service was poor.

I would also recommend Portobello at DTD. They're an Italian restaurant and pretty good, I thought.

I know you said you weren't looking to spend a lot of money, but I would suggest checking out a Signature restaurant like Citricos or California Grill. Often times when I go, there are so many appetizers that look amazing. What I sometimes end up doing is ordering a salad or soup, a more substantial appetizer item like a risotto or meat dish, and a dessert. I get 3 courses, it's not way too much food, and my bill is around $30, the same I would be spending at a moderately priced (for Disney!) restaurant and only getting to try 1 or 2 dishes.

Flying Fish, Le Cellier, Citricos are goood.

I would go with a restaurant in Epcot's World showcase like Le Cellier or although you said you didn't want to spend too much, maybe if you do 1 meal you could go with a signature restaurant. My picks would be Narcoossee's, California Grill or Jiko.

I think that Kona Cafe would be a nice choice. After you eat dinner, go outside and watch Wishes! :)

We loved Kona, it was a surprise pick for us, we weren't planning to eat there but changed our 'Ohana reservation from the night before. We really wanted to eat at Polynesian at least once, and Kona was all that was available for Jan. 22. After reviewing the menu, we decided it would be great, and it was! Food and service were both terrific! I reviewed it on the "Restaurant Reviews" board. HAVE FUN!
