I have never been to WDW with kids. Our plan is to go to the parks in the am, come back to swim (VWL) & then go out in the evening. How many changes of outfits do I need for the kids? I am sure they will be sweaty (we're going the end of Sept but I am sure it is still very hot) & dirty so I am assuming I need one outfit for the park & one outfit for after the park. Should I pack 3 outfits per day, just in case? Or 2 outfits a day & maybe 2 extra "just in case" outfits? We'll be at the parks for 5 days.

What do you all do?

Thanks!

Erin

If you are planning on coming back to the resort every day in the afternoon, you may be able to throw in a load of laundry. 2 or 3 outfits a day per person is a lot of clothes!

Oh yeah - duh! I forgot we have a w/d in our room! I am not used to having such a luxury on vacation!! (If you call having to do laundry a luxury - but at least it is in our own room!) That makes life much simpler (and lighter bags for dh to carry!).
Thanks!

Just want to share my story with you. I'm a heavy packer and usually bring LOTS of stuff to WDW. We always drive in our van. Well, our van's AC went out the day before our trip and we had to bring our SMALL (very small) car, and I had to re-think my packing strategy. We all just took about 3 shorts and 4 tops; my daughter and I threw in a casual dress; we each brought a couple bathing suits--- and we did FINE!!! I did laundry once during our 9 day trip. My lesson was that it was so much easier to pack light. So, I say resist the temptation to bring 3 outfits a day!!

Have a great trip and I think your plan of attack for each day is really smart! Try to be at the parks about 45 minutes before they open and you'll get so many rides in before it gets crowded.

I pack one outfit per day for half the amount of days of the trip for myself and my DH. I pack twice that for DS since he often need 2 sets of clothes per day. We do laundry at least once, usually half way through the trip. This way, barring major ice cream accidents, we each have enough clothes for half the trip, then we wash and start all over again.

On our last trip, instead of packing sweats and pjs, DS just slept in his sweats. If I put a t-shirt on underneath, I have no problems with him wearing those clothes again before we wash.

Pack light and do laundry. Saves space for souvies!

We are going to be on the road for two weeks in our RV, eight day's in Disney and plan on doing laundry. We are planning on bringing six kids (Space is a priority). For each one of the kids (and adults), except for the 2 Y/O, I plan on bringing- five pairs of shorts with 10 tops (one short- two shirts that match) If you think about it-yes they will be sweaty, but they really only need to change thier shirts to take care of that problem, not the whole outfit. One pr. of Jeans, and one sweat suit (not necessarily for Fl. but when we are still up north for night time if it's cool). 6 prs of sox, 6 prs undie's (all white for bleaching). Two prs of PJ's. Three Bathing Suits, One cover up for girls (or Mesh Tank Top for the boys). One pr Sandles, One pr Sneakers, One pr Water Shoe. For the baby besides all this other stuff. I have those jumper outfits also I plan on bringing 7 of those one because he is a major drool monster still and I can't seem to keep him clean. I can just throw one or two of those into the bag we take to the park and change him quickly. Changing just his shirt doesn't work for him.

If you feel the need to bring all those clothes and don't want to do laundry put them in the ziploc bags especially for the kids. I have done this the last two trips and it works great. It saves a lot of room and I don't have to search around for what to put on the kids in the morning. If you wanted to you could pack two shirts with one pair of shorts. I agree that it is usally the shirt that will need to be changed over the shorts.

Have a great trip! We leave in 20 days!!!

Ziplocs are the way to go :Pinkbounc

We went last year for 2 weeks and DD has a very small suitcase. I was able to pack 2 weeks worth of clothes, plus extras (just incase) and small toys/books. I put an outfit, socks and underwear in each bag. Then in the morning, I would just toss her a bag and ask her to get dressed. Can't get easier than that. My other family members couldn't believe how much of her stuff I packed in that little suitcase. Everyone else packed 1 weeks worth of clothes and did laundry, which I did for myself as well.

Since I had enough room in DD case, I just decided to pack the 2 weeks + worth...got the idea from the wonderful DIS boards
