need some opionions from the vets

hi: my nephew, niece and her fiance want to join us at wdw this november. i can get them the room they need (they'll have to move 4 times during the week) unless the wait list comes through. it will cost me 93 points that i'll have to borrow from my december use year. this will leave me short for the vacations i plan to take next year. do you think it feasible/wise to see if another dvc member would let me "buy" their points and have them transferred into my account? would there be a better solution? thanks, dee

I would definitely see if you buy some more points for what you want to do. You also might want to see about getting a different setup for that week because moving 4 times is not going to be fun.

try checking out the Rent/Trade board and maybe someone can help!
I have heard great success with the wait lists, so don't lose hope on that either. THere are some great members here who might be able to help. Try the rent/trade board. Good luck!!

hi and thanks for the quick replies. i wanted to run it by you guys before making any inquiries on the rent/trade board. i've never rented any points or ever rented mine out. my family just uses them all; well we did manage to bank 2 points last year though! please post some more educated opinions please.

Go ahead and rent!

We ran into a similar situation as we're bringing some very close friends of ours and their two children with our family of four in Oct. We have a mere 170 points, but were able to rent from another wonderful owner to get the extra points we needed and had our friends pay the difference! Now we have a 2 bedroom reserved without having to borrow. (It's a good thing because just three months later, we're taking my parents, brother, & sister!) I LOVE DVC!

Anyway, about the renting, the other helpful owner was a complete stranger that I found on these boards. We corresponded by email at first, then a couple of phone calls, (I felt better having heard a voice to make a better judgement call), and the transfer went very smoothly!
