Hi everyone,

I'm a DVC owner and will be having a Fairytale Wedding next October. As a gift to our attendants, my fiance and I are going to book the first two night (wed and thursday) of hotel for them (8 rooms, plus ours). We will be getting married at Sea Breeze Point on the Boardwalk, so ultimately, we'd like to be able to book BWV for everyone. Unfortunately we own at SSR. How difficult do you think this is going to be at a 7 month booking window? Or should I try and find someone willing to swap points for the year. We're looking at needing about 320 points. Thoughts?

Thanks!

The only thing that I can think of is that October is Food & Wine Fest. at Epcot, so it can be difficult to get ressies at the BWV for that time period, particularly for that many rooms. But, maybe you will luck out :goodvibes I would say that Standard View will be next to impossible, but you might get lucky with preferred view.

You will nine rooms at the Boardwalk in October? I'd say you'd HAVE to go through a BWV owner and have them book at the 11 month window. SSR points aren't as desirable as BWV points due to the availability and location so it may be hard to do a direct trade. I would rent from a BWV owner and then sell some corresponding reservations using your SSR points. If you want to keep control over all the reservations find someone with enough BWV points needed and do a transfer into your account.

October is Food & Wine Fest. at Epcot,

The main reason we're getting married in October! :) We have tons of points left from our Developers Points that we were given when we signed, so I'm not worried about the extra points for preferred, I'd just like the rooms for ease. We'll see. I guess a nice room anywhere is better than nothing. I could always use BCV too.

If you can handle the waitlist and wouldn't be too disappointed if some of your group ended up at SSR, I'd likely book now at SSR and try to change them one at a time when the 7 month window opens. I assume you are talking about 2008. Will your developer points still be good then?

I was thinking the same thing about doing a trade. I mean, if all else fails, we'll just stay wherever necessary. 9 rooms is alot. I'll likely just book SSR at the 11 months, and keep my fingers crossed at 7 months.

Developer points are all used, now I just need to use my regular points, which we banked.

I previously owned at BCV - sure was a heck of a lot easier to book points then.... Although, I dont' see what everyones' dislike of Saratoga is, I love it - it's just not convenient for wedding purposes.

Unfortunately, you'll have the same problem at BCV as BWV. Even with no standard view rooms.

I just wanted to say congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I agree with the others, book your SSR accomodations and try at 7 months, but don't be disappointed. Food and Wine send huge crowds to both BWV and BCV due to the location and proximity to Epcot.
