Going to stay in a studio for four days after out 10/28/06 to 12/04/06 Cruise. I'm wondering what rooms are great views. Although we'll probably just want to veg at the pool & go over to the boardwalk across the lake. We've never stayed here, so any help will be appreciated. How's the food? :pug:

There are mainly 4 types of view at the BCV: Woods, Beach Club Courtyard, Dunes Cove Pool, and the EPCOT Service Road.

You might want to go over to the DVC Planning Board and take a look at some of the threads over there, as they can give a greater perspective of how the resort is set up. :)

Enjoy your stay!

There is no such thing as a great view at BCV.

There however some decent views depending on your likes.

The backside of the resort faces Epcot which can be a nice view, but there is also a service road under your balcony which can be loud from buses and cars (ask for high floor). Only choose this if seeing Epcot is important.

There is a pool view which looks over the BCV quiet pool and parking lot in the distance. Noise can be an issue here but only if you are supersensitive about it IMO.

Then you have courtyard type views which face the Beach Club Resort. You over look a nice little green area with grass and trees and the BC, this is the nicest and quietest IMO, but your tastes may vary.

We had an EPCOT view on the 4th floor in Dec. 2004 and it was wonderful! We watched Illuminations from our balcony every night that we were there. I never noticed any noise from the service road and it was not a distraction to us at all. Keep in mind that the EPCOT view is looking at the back side of the countries of WS and the side of SE. I think that any of the views, except woods view, would be nice.

Have a great time!

What would I want to request if I "ideally" want to be able to have a partial view of IllumiNations from my balcony. I know this isn't likely, but would I just want to request Epcot view?

You can no longer request Epcot view, the Epcot Service Road has the views of Epcot, not sure why anyone lists this as a service road it, Epcot Plaza Blvd.

How soon before your trip should you request a certain view at the BCV. We are renting points from a DVC member. It will be our first stay at BCV.

You can request them at any time. However, requests don't really matter anymore, because they are using the "room ready" procedure, so when you check-in they'll assign you a room that is ready; or else assign you a room that will be ready by 4PM. Except for the busiest times, they will not be pre-assigning rooms. This is good for some, bad for others, depending on how you look at it.
