Hi...

I could use some help here. I am splitting my stay beginning with a moderate for 2 days and then going to a dvc. I am thinking of this....

I was thinking of the first two nights winging it for food and going to a park only on the second day. After the second day I will be going to a dvc resort and going to the parks every day but the first day and using the meal plan every day.

Here are my questions: (I am renting)

Should I get my tickets (MYW) seperate from the dining plan?

IF the answer is yes to the above...can I have non consequtive (sorry about he spelling) day for the tickets? what about dining?

Please assist...any help would be appreciated

I hope this is the correct place to post..the renters board is all pretty much renting and point trading posts...

Thanks again.

Depending on the type of ticket you want to buy, you can probably get it cheaper from Ticketmania, Mapleleaf, or other outlet. Check on mousesavers.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you purchase a 4-day ticket you don't have to go 4 days in a row. If you buy expiry tickets they do have to be used within a certain amount of time (I believe its 14 days but not sure always buy ap) but they don't have to be used together. You can go to a park one day then spend the next day at the pool. The great thing about the dining plan and DVC is we don't have to purchase a ticket from Disney to get the dining plan.

The dining plan must be purchased for everyone on your room (age 3 or greater) for the entire length of your ressie. You must also have made arrangements for the dining plan prior to check-in at your resort so it can be linked to your reservation.

Chuck...

I guess that is what I'm confused about...the entire length of stay would be from Friday-Friday...however...the first Friday is at a moderate...and then I go to the dvc resort on Sunday...the member I'm renting from wants to know if I want the dining plan linked to my ressie...I would like to tell her "yes" but don't know if entire length of stay would be Friday to Friday or I could just go on the plan Sunday....

O.k. an entirely different question....the promo now is free hopper upgrade...am I elligible with only a two day moderate and the rest a renting dvc ressie???

Is this making more sense my original post??? I just read my original post and it didn't even make sense to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SORRY.

OK, the dining plan at the moderate, if you want it and the free upgrade, must be booked with the moderate reservation through Central Reservations (CRO), though I'm not sure that the CRO dining plan and ticket upgrade would be available to you as the CRO plans normally require a minimum 3 night stay. The DVC rental ressie is a seperate ressie, and the dining plan for that portion of your trip needs to be booked though DVC Member Services, by you or the member you are renting from. The DVC dining plan is not tied to any park tickets, and is paid for when you check-in at the DVC resort. You can add park tickets at the time, but there is not free "upgrade" available to DVC ressies, you can also choose to buy your tickets from any of the normal "non-Disney" vendors, if you wish. It makes no difference as far as your DVC ressie.

you could have the dining plan for just the DVC stay if you want, but if you do that, you need to use the plan only on the days of that reservation.

Regarding the Dining Plan, your "entire stay" consists of a 2 night reservation and a 5 night reservation. The only portion that can have the Dining Plan thru DVC is the 5 night reservation you are renting from a DVC member. The other 2 nights are not even an option for the plan thru DVC.

Regarding the MYW passes, you may purchase whatever your needs may be. The least costly might even be to purchase a 10 day pass with no expiration if you will be returning to WDW at some time in the future. Otherwise, you may purchase a pass for exactly how many days you want to go into the parks during this trip. The pass will expire in 14 days (unless you pay the extra for the "No Expire" feature. These passes do not need to be used on consecutive days- each day of the pass may be used as you'd like.

The Dining Plan for DVC stays is little less restrictive than the usual plan since no tickets must be included. As already noted, the DP must be for everyone in your room for all days of the reservation.

Enjoy!

I'm confused - the member also got your the res at the moderate (on points I'm assuming)? Does it have a different res number (I think it should - even when you switch DVC resorts, you get a different res number!). Each res number would have it's own dining plan. So you could get one for the moderate, for the DVC, or both (probably a waste, unless you can use the extra credits from Sunday - you'd get credits at both resorts).
