I haven't really had issues with my socks until recently when my distances starting getting longer and the heat/humidity are awful.

I can't stand having sweaty/hot feet while running but haven't been happy with my current socks that are okay on short runs.

I have Nike socks that are too thin and end up too sweaty, new balance that seem to be okay but could be better, asics and another type of new balance that are just too thick and heavy for me. They take away the moisture but seem to make my feet feel sooo hot.

I am new to running, especially longer distance so every little minor thing can effect my runs.

Thanks for any suggestions!

I don't know if you'll find them 'too hot', but I love Balega socks.
My feet don't feel wet after a run, no matter how much I've been perspiring. I wore them for the Princess Half Marathon last year, and wear them on all my long runs.

I use Experia with thorlo pads. Slight bit of padding in heel and toe area and keep my feet cool.

I'm not by any means an expert and the longest run I have done in them is 5 miles. BUT I have wore them to work a couple of times and am on my feet for 12+ hours and still felt they worked great.

I use Experia with Thorlo pads too. They provide a good amount of padding, but are pretty cool on my feet - and my feet always get really hot.

Injinji toe socks I've worn them on runs from 1 to 13 miles so far. I have the thinnest version and I love them. Since I started wearing them, I haven't had a single foot related problem. It's like gloves for my feet.

Another vote for Balega socks! :goodvibes If you do decide to order something from runningwarehouse.com remember there is a WISH discount code. :thumbsup2

Feetures!! They are by far my favorite sock. Balega, at least the pairs I have, are too thick and hot compared to feetures Elite. Feetures Elite contour to each foot, are wicking, and compression.

I wear both Feetures and Experia by Thorlo. I love both of these brands and whatever pair is on top in the sock drawer is the one I wear on my run.

I love the thin Balega socks - I think they are called "Hidden Dry." Perfect!

Another vote for Balega...worth every penny: http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpage-BHDLS.html

They're thing (my feet don't get too hot) and do a good job of wicking sweat away. I very rarely get blisters (maybe 2-3 times per year). Good luck!!

+1 (or +4, whatever ;) ) for balega socks.. They are pricey (what isnt in this sport lol) but I've thought about buying them for everyday use :).. Yes I am one of those lucky people that get to wear shorts and t-shirts and sneakers for my 'work uniform' :)

Yep, they sure are. Totally worth it though. There's nothing more frustrating than having to take a week off waiting for a blister to heal...:headache:

I struggled for a while to find the right socks. I had a big problem with blisters between my big toe and second toe and underneath a couple of my toes as well. I really like the Smartwool ultra light socks for shorter runs. But I discovered Wigwam Ironman socks at the Seattle RNR expo a few months ago and fell in love. Specifically the Wigwam Ironman Velocity Pro Socks. They keep my feel nice and dry and give my toes plenty of room to not rub together, so no painful blisters!! :woohoo:
