Is it ok to have your shirt longer than your jacket? I bought the shirt and the formal pants from Lane Bryant and the jacket from TJ maxx. The shirt is white, the pant is black and the jacket gray. Problem is the shirt is about 2 cm longer than my jacket. Is this acceptable? This is for an interview. I am thinking of dropping the jacket altogether if thats a problem.

If you've ever watched "What Not To Wear", they tend to put women in shorter jackets to make the torso look longer. So, I think it's okay. :goodvibes

Yes, they put the women in short jackets with SHIRTS THAT MATCH! I just saw one where they were going to tailor the shirt because it was about an inch longer than the jacket. Especially with the colors you mentioned, OP, it would be very noticeable and a fashion no no.

Exactly as stated above. The trend is for shorter, almost cropped jackets - with the shirt longer. But if it's a longer jacket, then no, the shirt shouldn't stick out the bottom. Also what kind of interview? If it's for a formal or professional job I'd say no way. As crazy as it might sound, duct tape or heavy duty tape goes a long way trying to temporarily fix a fashion no-no!
