Need some advice

Okay. We have four days in the World and one day at Islands of Adventure. We will be at AK on a Monday and IOA on Tues. AK hours 9-5 and IOA 9-7. We'll be driving only to IOA. Disney transport otherwise. We will be eating at Boma and Ohana.
Originally I was planning on having dinner at Boma Mon eve when AK closed. But, I pulled drive time and it looks as if AKL is a shorter drive from IOA than is the Poly. My DD will want to spend every last second in the HP section which means we won't be leaving until 7ish. I figured 7:45 by the time we leave parking.
I'm thinking the earliest ADR we could reasonably manage at Ohana is 8:30?
Does it seem silly to go to AK and then dinner at Ohana only to drive into AKL the next day? I was thinking that we'd be back to the room a little earlier Tues if we eat at Boma that night.
Do you think it matters? DD thinks it won't make even a half hour difference.
Any and all advice appreciated!

you correctly, you will have a car, want to eat at Ohana and Boma and will be visiting DAK and IOA on the days you want to eat at those restaurants. One key bit of information would be where you are staying.

As a generic answer, I would drive to DAK that day also and go to Boma. That has the least time invested. By taking Disney transportation, you have to bus to DAK, bus to AKL (while a short drive, waiting for a bus can eat up time) and take a bus via a park or DTD or take a cab. If you are staying on the monorail, the MK bus is convenient. That is a lot of travel time.

45 minutes is probably enough time to get to Ohana. Most of the drive is on interstate, but beware of the time to exit IOA.

Sorry, that would've been helpful! We're staying at POFQ. I figured about 30-40 minutes to get from front gate at IOA to the car and out. Do you think longer?

since WOHP opened so things may have changed. Universal is pretty good about getting people out of the lot so that should be doable.

If you end up 5-10 minutes late for your ADR, there shouldn't be a problem.

POFQ is our home resort now. We stayed at a couple of deluxe resorts and one Value for a short trip, before settling on POFQ. We like the size and the grounds and the boat to DTD.

Enjoy.

Tough choice without a car. I still think that I would go to BOMA on the night you are at AK. Unfortunately, no matter how you play it you have to transfer somewhere to get back to POFQ.

If you have a car on the day you go to IOA why not find a nice restaurant off property that might be closer to IOA? Latin Quarter is amazing as are both Emerils. I also like the Hard Rock. This gives you a chance to try something different.

Then I would go to O'Hana's on one of the other nights you are here.

Good Luck
Linda
