I suffered from this several years back and I already use orthotics. The best thing from me was stretching before excercising, as my podiatrist told me to. The Achilles tendon stretch, you can google it if you are not sure. Doing this before exercise or heavy walking made a world of difference for the entire day. I'd try this in concert with your footwear as eventually I got to the point where it just didn't come back.
