Need reviews on Teppen Edo in Japan!

Yes, it is similar to the hibachi places we have at home but we don't to those places on a regular basis. We go for special occasions and enjoy it when we do. What is a more special occasion than being at Disney World?

My review would go like this -- the food is tasty, the preparation enjoyable, the family is gathered around the table together and we are laughing and having a delightful time as we have a meal prepared in a style we enjoy.

From our family of four it gets four great big :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Wow! It's nice to hear great reviews about a restaurant from everyone! We are trying it for the first time in September. My DH requested it. We don't have a restaurant around here like it. We're excited!

This restaurant is also great with special dietary needs. I am allergic to shellfish, and shrimp is a big part of their menu. The chef made a little joke about it for us. He cooked my chicken, veggies, etc. on the side of the grill. Each time saying: "No No! No shrimp for you!" We would all laugh, as would he :).

I always say, try it once. What do you have to lose?

What do they cook with on the grill top? DS3 is allergic to dairy and I was thinking that this might be a great place for us if they use oil (not butter) and are cooking up just meat and veggies. Glad to hear that they are good with allergies, although most WDW places have been fantastic (which is why WDW is our usualy vacation destination!

That is exactly why we don't eat here when in WDW. There are so many places that are different from restaurants in our home town, and when we travel, we look for something different. Everything I've read about Teppan Edo is that it's very good, but a little expensive (doesn't matter if you're on the DP) and they don't offer the extras that you'd get at home (soup, salad, shrimp appetizer). Have fun!:)

I agree with this. Teppan Edo is good, but nothing different than the hibachi places we have around here. We just cancelled our ADR for August because we wanted to try something new.

We don't have many places like Teppan Edo in England, unless you live in the big cities like London, Manchester etc.

So....Teppan Edo is great for us :cloud9:

I booked it last year during free dining and my 14 year old brother exclaimed that it was excellant :thumbsup2 So much so, I had to cancel an ADR later in the week and rebook Teppan Edo

We enjoyed it very much! I don't think I'd do it without the DDP though as it is a little expensive.

Here are some pics of our meal in February:

This is a must do for my husband. His must do use to be LeCellier, but he doesn't care for it anymore. My kids enjoy the place also.

This is our traditional *last night* dinner. We love it! The food is excellent...the shrimp is sweet and the filet is melt in your mouth tender. We love the 3 dipping sauces...even DS6 eats all his veggies here. DD8 loves the chicken and DS7 loves the shrimp. The service is fantastic and the show is fun. :goodvibes

We haven't tried this yet, but we are very excited to have ADRs. My DD has never had hibyachi yet and I know she is going to LOVE it! :lovestruc
Can't wait! :thumbsup2

I think that they do use butter. My nephew is allergic to dairy, and the last time we went there with him, a chef came out to discuss his allergy, and they brought him a plate from the kitchen that was safe for him to eat. He still enjoyed the "show" and was able to eat somethin not cooked in butter.

OK, I checked with my sister. She said that they cooked the dairy-allergic child's food first - before they put any butter on the cook top.
