When a friend of mine moved from Florida to Australia, she had several companies come and give her quotes. Perhaps OP can do the same. Schedule companies to provide a quote and go over contract details.
We are a military family (my parents, myself, DH, etc) so we have moved a lot over my entire life. The military always scheduled the company for us, but the process of moving is more than just putting items on a truck. The inventory process of identifying and labeling each box, crating, the movers locking the crates in front of you before your items leave your property is important. You want all of your boxes put into crates and locked. The crates then transported to a storage until, then transferred to another truck going to the next state. There will be multiple families items on one truck, so crating is the best method over individual boxes. Even when I moved 3 hours away, it wasn't putting items on a truck and driving to the next location. It took 2 weeks to get my items because they take the items to storage, then when they have multiple loads going the same direction, they schedule your items to be on that truck. If you want your items placed on a truck by themselves and driven from FL to TX directly, that will cost a lot more.
