I am trying to see if a short 3-day trip will work out for us in September. I am weighing the options between staying on-site using the free dining or possibley getting an off-site hotel for cheap. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cheap, decent/clean/good area for a hotel? It has to be close as well. Last time we stayed just off 192, which was very close. We will have a rental car either way, so that doesn't play into the decision.

Thank you!

You might want to check out the hotel deals at mousesavers.com. Currently, there's are special rates available at the three Marriott Villages hotels in the Lake Buena Vista area at $79 to $89 per night with a $25/night credit that can be used in their food court or resort store.

These are fairly nice hotels in a convenient location.

You can find a number of 3.5 star hotels at very decent prices($45-55) on Hotwire.com. There is a site called www.betterbidding.com that helps you figure out which hotel you are probably getting based on the amenities. You can do your hotwire search directly from the betterbidding site. Once you see the possibilites go back to the betterbidding site and post the amenities in the hotel you are looking at and ask the administrator if he knows which hotel.. Just explore site you will see how it works. Its great. Once you figure out then you can see if you want to book through hotwire.:happytv:

My family(5) has stayed both on property with free dinning and off site.
On property we like the themeing, transportation, extra magic hours and not having to look at the prices for meals. We always get 2 rooms at a value resort or the family suite.Cons:Price of package and buying items in the gift shop.Taking the trip off site to save money and daily cost of fridge/micro.

Off site we have stayed at Holiday Inn on 192($45) and Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista($33).We saved money but the included transportation(to all area parks) was by the hotel shuttle scheudal. Both locations included breakfast and we eat kids meals at the parks($4).Also it is much cheaper to buy products at the local gas station or Walgreens.
I suggest writing down your must haves, budget, and activities you want to do first. GOOD LUCK! Hope you have a magical trip:wizard:
