Need reasurrance on Horizons!

I'm here Lisa. ;) Thanks for posting the link to the pictures. Horizons is great for kids. If you want a new building, I'd ask for Building 28 or 29 (that's the newest buildings). The lock offs are on the ends of Buildings 28 and 29. But there are some regular two bedrooms in the middle of those buildings.

We're checking into Horizons next weekend. Yipee. Part of my bunch will be at OKW and part of us at Horizons. We'll be traveling between the two resorts. Two of my favorites. :)

Horizon's 2 bedrooms are about 1100 square feet (in comparison - Disney's VWL, BWV, and Beach Club Villas are also right at 1100 square feet). Marriott's Cypress Harbour's 2 bedrooms are around 1300 square feet. Horizons does not have the whirlpool tub, but it has (2) themed zero entry swimming pools with slides and a mini water park, and a miniature golf course. It's heaven for the little ones. It's also a nice resort for parents because it's not spread out like a lot of the mega resorts. 5 minutes tops and you're at either pool. Nice and compact.

We stayed at Horizon in April 2007 and loved it! I look forward to returning sometime and have no hesistation recommending it to friends. We had rented a two bedroom but when we arrived were given a one bedroom with another attached one bedroom lockoff. If I had teens this would have been a nice set up but with young kids it felt like they were going to be in a separate apartment. We immediately went back to the front desk and were given a two bedroom, first floor condo.

The decor was fine and not too stuffy for kids. Kitchen table and bench were easy to wipe off. As we were not there on exchange points we received daily maid service-new towels, beds made and light cleaning. Washer and dryer made life easier. We tended to have breakfast in the condo, lunch at the parks and some light suppers at the pool. We saw people ordering pizzas from a local place and eating by the tables at the pool. We ate from the pool bar twice. Nothing fancy-turkey wraps and fries and chicken nuggets for the kids.

The kids loved the pool. Some nights it was a little cool but they wanted to go. Large shallow area for younger kids by pirate pool. Mine were 3 & 4 at the time and had too be dragged away. My older son also enjoyed it as well. They had a movie by the pool one night and they had staff playing games with the kids in the pirate pool area another night.

The hot tubs are awesome. Large with decoration in the center which divides it into partially separted areas. I'm starting to plan for next year and would like to try something else. However, I keep comparing all the other pools to Horizons and hope I'm not making a mistake.

I forgot to mention-the king bed was super comfortable! My mother was also along and liked that it wasn't too much walking.

We stayed at Horizons in April this year as well. At one point, we actually squeezed 10 of us in the condo and it did not feel crowded. 4 kids, 6 adults - I really think your three your old will love it - mine did - she was about 34 months old when we went - the pools are great - bar food way too expensive, though. The activities were fun and it was easy to get to the parks. You'll have a great time! Let us know! We have stayed at Cypress Harbor, too - this resort (Horizons) is way more kid friendly. There was a singer/ band by the pool a few of the days- he was really good. We weren't really there much in the evenings, so I don't know about the nightlife.
