Need really great websites for what diabetics can eat..HELP!!

My mom(84) just found out yesterday that she is diabetic. She went to a convienient care division of our local hospital as her regular doctor was out of town. She will try to go see her regular doctor on Monday but I need to find out what she can eat right now. I don't know too much about it but yesterday her glucose was over 300(I think 380). Today it was in mid 250's and the doctor prescribed insulin pills for her.

What are the best sites for me to find info for her on what she can eat and probably how to monitor her glucose. Our hospital I think does classes but until she can get to the classes we need help!!

First don't panic until she sees her Doctor and they do confirming tests. You can't be diagnosed on one test. she will need further tests to determine if she is for sure or if it was a one time occurance from something. Till she can see her Dr. I would just watch her carbs and sugar intake for the weekend, Avoid dessert, too much fruit, processed food. Try to up her walking if possible and she definately needs to talk to her Dr. on Monday!
