Last night, one of the bulbs on my track lighting went out. Now all of the power seems to be going to the remaining bulb, so when I try and turn off the power to it, it stays on. The people who lived here before must have set up the "dimmer" (it's a regular power switch but works like a dimmer) when both bulbs were in. If that makes any sense.

I don't have any replacement bulbs and will not be able to get any until this evening. What is safer, just to leave the light burning? What happens to the current if that one burns out while we are gone?

or B, should we turn off the switch to this room on the breaker?

We're just so paranoid about electrical stuff here.

I don't think you have to worry about the one light being on. We have a couple dimmer switches like you have and you have to make sure they are really all the way down to be off. Try pushing it down a little more and see if the light goes off. If you turn off the circuit, you will also shut power off to other things in the house and unless you know everything that is on the circuit, you might turn off power to say your hot water heater. (which should have it's own circuit but you never know).
