Need prayers please!!

A friend of ours who is a police officer was shot twice early this morning in the abdomen. She immediately went in for surgery and is listed in critical condition. They aren't releasing anymore info and we haven't spoken with any of the family members yet. Please keep her in your prayers. She's new to the police force only being an officer for about 2 years. (she's under the age of 30)

I just got done watching our local news where they said she is 'alert and responsive'. I'm praying that's a VERY good sign. She is only 27 years old. And just so you know, they did catch the guy that did it. He was wanted on burglary charges. First it was burglary, now it's attempted murder. May he rot in jail.

My hubby spoke with her father-in-law a few minutes ago, The news reports were incorrect, she was shot twice in the leg and once in the abdomen. Still horrible. But she's doing GREAT. They did surgery to repair her intestines and she will be very sore for a good while. But she's going to be okay!!!

The guy they were attempting to arrest was doped up on drugs. He went crazy and she and her partner were trying to get him cuffed. He took off, they got him again. Another scuffle happened and he ended up grabbing her gun. He also shot her partner twice in the chest but thankfully his vest protected him. He did end up with some broken ribs though.

Anyway, thanks for your prayers and thoughts!!!

As a wife of a police officer...I am so glad the news is so good. So scary what police officers have to deal with.

On a side note, because her weapon was used against her she may have to go through an investigation. I'll keep her in my prayers about that as well.

Shelby I'm so glad I got the update with the first post!! Wooo! I hate to hear about the people who are meant to protect us getting hurt!
