Need (4) 2 BR units for one week between june 20 2003 and july 20 2003.

You need to indicate which DVC resort you are interested in staying and preferrably, the exact week as point values may vary.

Should you be able, it may be cheaper, if that's an issue, to spend either the first or last night off property. Friday and Saturday night stays are much higher point values and you may be financially better to pay cash through CRO for either/both nights and find a DVC owner(s) to rent enough points for a Sun-Thurs night .

not being familiar with DVC but knowing the rates through Disney reservations / expedia, I would hope to get better rates than published. I assume dollars = points therefore if Disney is approx $400/night times 5 nights times 4 units, I would need $8K worth of points. do I have the concept correct?

At the minimum, a week would be nearly 300 points, times four. You do the math. You could buy your own DVC for that much money.

We rent points for Sunday to Thursday, five nights. We stay at a regular Disney resort for Friday and Saturday nights. Saves a heap of cash!

Examples:

Seven night stay at 2br OKW

Fri. June 20 check in, Fri. June 27 check out, 296 points per unit, 1184 points total, @ $10 per point = $11874, or average of $422.85 per night per unit.

Five night stay at 2br OKW

Sun. June 22 check in, Fri. June 27 check out, 150 points per unit, 600 points total, @ $10 per point = $6000, or average of $300.00 per night per unit.

I've seen points rent for as low as $6.00 per point (smaller amounts, expiration date "use 'em or lose 'em" or personal emergency/financial distress), and as high as $13.75 per point (Special events, New Years, Spring Break, etc.), but usually they average around $10.00 per point.
