Need planning advice for a 6-day stay in Anaheim

Dear all,

Our family (DH, me, DS (7) and DD (5)) will be coming with me to a conference in Anaheim in June 2012. We are staying in the Desert Palms Hotel & Suite for three night and the Grand California Villa for 3 nights. We would like to take one day to visit LA and the rest in Disneyland and California Adventure. Other than the two meeting I have to attend in the middle of the day for two days, we are pretty much free in that area. HOw many days do you think I need to visit the DL and CA in general? We want to take it slow, but I am not sure if we can spend 5 days there.

Definitely will do the hopper tickets but should I buy 3-day/4-day/5-day?

i know the difference is not that much, but still......

Any advice is appreciated.

Summer 2012 is a big question mark because of the pending opening of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street at DCA. Once these open then four days will be the minimum time required at DLR and five days better if you want to take it slowly. I would say you plan for at least four days and be ready to upgrade to five days based on how things go.

5 days if you want to take it slow is perfect. For us we like to have pool days, Downtown Disney Days, beach days and the like so the more time you build into your schedule the better. Disneyland also has so many little things that go unnoticed that you need that extra time. Don't spend too much time on the Hollywood part because its not worth it. Its dirty and not a good area for families for the most part. Other areas like Newport Beach and Corona Del Mar beach are wonderful for going to the ocean. San Diego is only 90 minutes away if you want to see other things in SoCal. Hotel Del Coronado (think Grand Floridian before it was even dreamed of), San Diego Zoo, and Sea World are all down there.
