Need opinions; RPR or PBR for MLK weekend?

I'm leaning toward PBR b/c there is more space, haven't stayed there yet, and there is a pool slide if it happens to be warm enough to swim. But RPR has been rennovated recently and is getting better "service/friendliness" reviews. The price isn't much different since I got a APH rate at PBR but I'm comparing to RPR full rate.

But are there MLK weekend specific things I should factor in? Has anyone found the boats so crowded on a holiday weekend that you'd rather be at RPR for the shorter walk to IOA and Margaritaville? I normally avoid really busy times so any MLK weekend advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

as to the boats being crowded...

this year - late June/early July weekend before the 4th of July the boat was crowded & we had to wait for the next one a few times our 1st day there.

The next day the TMs @ the dock starting asking for room keys before boarding & searching bags. I inquired as to "why":) ; was told they were getting complaints of guests booking rooms and having unauthorized guests camp out-exceed room occupancy/share room keys for FOTL.:rolleyes1 not sure if the practice is common or even more prevelant @ RPR due to usually being the lowest priced:confused3

fyi, wasn't asked 12/1 to produce any sort of id.

I am glad they do something about this when the complaints roll in. :thumbsup2

OP, I'm sorry I can't help much during MLK weekend as we've never been there during that time, but I'm thinking you'll be OK at PBH. We stayed at PBH during Spring Break/Mardi Gras, and we didn't have any issues waiting too long for the boats.
